Just got a phone call from this phone number claiming that I had viruses on my computers. The woman said that her name is Annie and that she wanted to talk to my husband and she knew his name, how she knew that I'd like to know. I told her that we tried to call them back and that the number was not in service. She did the uh uh and then said that she was sorry. I told her that my computers are virus free and hung up on her. I am registered on the do not call list, how do we stop these people?
I'm on the DO NOT CALL LIST. I did not recognize this number, therefore, did not answer. They did not leave a voice mail message. I see from the above reports that this is a scam.
Got the same call in Alabama. The bad part is "he" not only has my home phone number but he has also called on my cell.
I filled out a survey from Kroger the night before I got this call so wanted to know if any one else had and if this is where they get their list?
Got the same call. They know you've got a computer because everyone has a computer. Total scam
Hello Everyone, These scammers are calling from a fake number.Their direct numbers are 626-239-3135 and 646-915-0866.* CALL THEM , SPAM THEM , TELL THEM TO STOP CALLING *
As soon as I saw the # and heard the voice with the accent, I pushed 2 then 6 on the phone TO MAKE IT SOUND LIKE THE CALL WAS BEING TRANSFERRED, waited a couple of seconds and said "Hello, this is Special Agent Gibbs, NCIS, how may I help you?". He wanted to know what NCIS was and I told him "National Computer Investigative Section of the Federal Communication Commission". End of conversation and they have NEVER called back. What a batch of idiots. IROTFLMAO.
I received a call from this # last evening...heavy accent...said that he was from Global Tech and that my PC and IP address were sending warning messages to their network and he would show me how to fix this. And that I was to sit down and go to the start button. I said...What???? Where are you located? He said the Virgin Islands. I said...that is odd. Caller ID comes up Nova Scotia! No reply from man. I asked to speak to his supervisor. So then a heavily accented woman got on the phone and said the same thing...giving the phone back to the first man. I decided to see what he was going to do so I ask him to continue while I wrote down the steps he gave. After he took me to the Event View he said...now tell me what you see. I replied that I wasn't simply writing down the steps and would verify the legitimacy of his phone call. Tonight they called again...didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. I did call the # that this guy gave me and they did answer....couldn't understand what the guy said. Sounded Indian. I asked him where he was located and he said just a moment...I said, you don't know where you are located? and after a moment he said London. Once again, I said...hmmmm, it looks like a California area code to me. He was stuttering at this point. According to the reverse call lookup it is a a los angeles phone #. So he asked me if I wanted his service and I told him I highly suspect this is a scam. He didn't reply and I hung up. CREEPS!!!!!
My phone record was the following:July 8 , 5:54PMNOVA SCOTIA P.E.I.1-902-567-8434The caller, Mexican accent, was hard to hear when he said who he was. I asked him to speak louder, which he did but did not repeat who he was. He then explained that my computer was leaving faulty data around. He then asked if I was at the computer, I replied no, then he said for me to go to the computer and turn it on and he would tell me what next to do. I thanked him for telling me about the computer and also his time, goodbye. He started talking fast to keep me on the line but whoosh I was gone.
