THANKS FOR ALL THE GREAT DATA ON SYDNEY NS. THESE PEOPLE HAVE BEEN CALLING ME RELENTLESSLY, EVEN ON THE 4TH OF JULY! NOW I KNOW WHAT THE SCAM IS ALL ABOUT AND WILL BE REPORTING IT. I DON'T ANSWER MY PHONE WHEN I AM NOT FAMILIAR WITH NAME/NUMBER ON CALLER ID. AGAIN, THANKS FOR THE INFO AND FOR THIS WEBSITE.
rec'd a call from tha aforemantioned lady w/ the "thick Asian Indian accent". Got the same B.S. message that others have reported and told her that under NO circumstances was I going to let her have access to my computer. To which she replied, "Oh, ok, (pause) thank you (something unintelligible)".
Just received call from Nova Scotia PEI. Nobody on other end and hung up. Checked number on Internet and WOW what a surprise !!!! Thanks for this site. It sure gave me some important inside info. Will defenitily pass this info on to our friends
Thank you for this site. It gave me the insight I needed. Have received two calls, one last week, one today on the 4th of July. They don't know it's a US holiday. "Sandy" with thick East Indian accent. The second time he called, he asked for my husband since he didn't get anywhere with me the first time he called. I lied and told him my husband was not available to take a call. I asked him since he knew so much about my computer, why did he think it needed to be turned on, just to pull his chain a bit. Told him if he was going to scam English speaking people, he needed to get rid of his accent. Then, I hung up. I wonder why it has taken so long to shut down this guy. These posts start in April.
These scum bags called our home three times. The first two calls no one answered when I said "Hello?" I googled their phone number and glad I did. When the phone rang again I answered and so did "Brian" who told me my Computers I.P. address had been reported to Home Land Security since I had browsed terrorist websites. I laughed and said, "Son! I'm 88 years old. I don't own a computer. Hell! I wouldn't know how to turn one on. You need to look someplace else for someone foolish enough to fall for your scam. Now you don't mind if I transfer your call to my Grandson in D.C. who works for Home Land Security do you?" Of course the jerk hung up. I then blocked their # from being able to call here and called my Grandson who works for the FTC. He asked me to call him tomorrow at his work number and said,If you should get another call from these creeps,I advise you to hit the "Talk" button on your phone then hit the "Off" button. Eventually they will move on to someone else until the FTC and Canadian authorities can shut them down.
