It doesn't matter if she made a payment recently. It doesn't make the debt active! After 7 years of the original date it first went into collections, the debt can be removed from the Credit Bureau by request in writing, online or by mail. Now, as for getting those calls to stop. You must call them back at the number they provided in there message. As soon as someone picks up the phone you calmly say that this call is being recorded. You want to talk to someone in a management position. If they transfer you or not you you proceed with the call, you say, " I am putting you on notice that you are not to call my number again... OR sell this debt to another company as though it has any value and if you do, YOU and your company will be held liable. bye bye now"

unfortunately it does not work like that. it doesnt seem like you know anything about collections. even if it falls off your credit bureau.. it is still collectable-DONT GIVE ADVICE IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT!! "bye bye now"

how about instead of blocking the number you just pay your bill.. its a very simple way to get the calls stopped. YOU racked up the debt so YOU have to pay for it. people that are in debt and are rude to collectors are being rude to the wrong person. dont spend $5000 on a credit card if you cant pay it back..ITS COMMON SENSE!!!!!!
