Just received this call - ID says West Sacrame CA (I assume Sacramento)... hung up on me when I answered. Hope someone finds out who it is!
I don't know anyone in California. Could it be Sensa? I was getting calls from a 703 area code that turned out to be them, earlier today.
According to complaints on Mr. Number, this number is not even valid. It is a spoofed caller ID as 999 is not a valid prefix. My wife received a call from this number this afternoon. Apparently they knew her name (which is scary to begin with). They asked her what she did for a living. Then they asked her if she had a Visa or MasterCard. This was her cue to hang up. We now have a policy of not answering phone calls from numbers we do not recognize. Identity theft is a very real thing and it is a fast growing problem in our society today. Be extremely careful about who you give out information to. Just the simple act of confirming your identity over the phone can be enough for someone to phish you for information in ways you may not even be aware of. In my opinion, the fact that these low-life scam artists already have access to my phone number means that they already have TOO MUCH information on me.
