My 86 year old mother in law got a call from these people and they managed to talk her into a package (AT&T residential and DISH tv) that was more expensive than the package (COX phone and cable tv) she had. She said "AT&T called me" and she thought she was getting a good product. But here's the kicker - my mother in law is in a nursing home!! These horrible people (expletive deleted) actually came to her home, installed a DISH network dish on the roof of her UNIT, came back later in the day and switched her phone line to AT&T (so she would qualify for the DISH promotion) and when she found out she no longer had the services she used to have - and by services, I mean she no longer had call waiting and channels such as PBS and CNN were gone, to name a few. No one ever went over what channels she'd now have, or what phone services she'd now have. She called the number on the DISH "contract" to cancel this mess, and they said "sorry, you have to talk to Etech. There is a $240 dollar fee for cancelation before the contract is over." I called AT&T and spoke to someone who could actually help - and she said she had no idea who Etech was. I am going to help my mother in law revert back to her old services from COX. And Etech if you're listening - I hope you go out of business soon - you're elder abusers and thieves. I will make sure that you refund her every last penny.
Same as everybody, Etech, Inc for ATT. Called ATT direct and also emailed mary.sommers@etechinc.com Don't know if they will stop, but lets hope.
calls numerous times during day and evening. I have requested to be removed from call list three times. Today, recieved another call and I informed the caller this and he got smart with me telling me to take my time as he will continue to be there. I have called the company and get an answering machine. Really getting me upset.
Call their 800 number and demand to be removed from their call list. If we all start calling them, we will run up their 800 phone bill, and maybe they will stop these endless phone calls. One time I answered their call, and a woman was laughing on the other end but would not speak with me. Usually, I answer the phone, and no one is there. This is very irritating.Call Etech at 1-800-537-3809 - I got through to a person using extension 23. Or go to www.etechinc.com and get their company contact information. Tell them you are tired of the prank phone calls and demand to be removed from their calling list. If enough of us call, we will run up their 800 phone bill. Do it for the sake of everyone getting these calls!!!
Actually, a telemarketing company can call on behalf of their client if the client company has a business relationship with you. When a telemarketing company calls, specify that you want to be put on their do-not-call list as well as the client company's list. Also, if the law is violated, both the client company and their agent are both responsible (you can sue them both).
Called the 936-559-2200 and hit zero for operator. I advised we are getting calls from ETech daily at our business lines and these calls are to stop immediately. The representative stated they would place our phone numbers on THEIR do not contact list. The process will take 24 hours to log in.Try this and hopefully this will stop the calls.
Stop calling me, I don't answer restricted calls, unknown calls, calls outside of my area code. Save your dime!
Yes, telemarketers are annoying. Yes, there are certain inside procedures that customers are not typically aware of that they can use in order to have themselves removed from the calling list. But here's the thing: this company employs people. It provides jobs. When people have jobs, they're not creating trouble (i.e. financial) and inconvenience in other areas of life. Most of the people working at this place are in-fact students. They're trying to make their way through college, so that they can better themselves. Etech has benefits and financial reimbursement for students. If you find yourself on the phone with a rude agent, consider that they're just trying to do their jobs, but that probably nine times out of ten, they end up speaking to someone who is rude and nasty. Think what you like, but hearing that day in and day out wears down on people. There are ways to politely ask something to be done. I guarantee you, almost every single caller from the center in Texas would appreciate nothing more than a polite request. They'll work with you the best they can. But if you try to be exceedingly rude, they're unwilling to assist you. Can you honestly say you'd feel any different? If you do want to be removed, even though you're on the DNC, since Etech is calling on behalf of a company you do business with, they're not required to comply with that list. They have their own, that they will put you on, if you verbally request it. If that doesn't work, email Mary Sommers: mary.sommers@etechinc.comAll of this can be done civilly. The point of this is to not make everyone suddenly love telemarketers and forgive the annoyance, but it's to shed some light. These are not scam artists. They're calling on behalf of the "campaigns" they represent, but their knowledge of the customer is usually limited, due to that client and what they provide the agent to use. If you are dealing with an agent that you can understand, listen to what they have to say. They are actually trying to get you better service. If you don't want it, that's fine, too. Make sure you have their name, and write down the date you spoke to them. If there are problems, contact the company. They do not appreciate it when agents lie to customers, so action will be taken if the chat is reviewed and there's an issue with the information provided. So many people on this board have said something along the lines of getting a real job. This is a real job to so many people that are trying to support themselves through college, or their families, and rude, inconsiderate, ignorant people only make a job they probably don't like all the more hard. Get off your high horses already. To threaten harm or other horrible things? Not only is uncalled for, but it's karma, guys. You have no idea about the people that work at these places. They're PEOPLE, just like you or me. It dumbfounds me that anyone would say the things they say. Where's the compassion, folks?
