I've blocked this number, but they have continued to call. The other day I received a post card from them telling me that my "participation is very important" and "responses will represent thousands of people who were not selected for this research study." They go on to assure me that they have nothing to sell me. I DON'T WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS SURVEY. They should move on to another person and stop wasting their time in trying to contact me.
honest to god-block these people on phone - received a letter stating they were sorry if they upset me but would continue to call. and they started again 2 weeks later. best thing i every bought in my life and i'm 70 years old, is a panasonic bluetooth phone for home. you can block 250 numbers plus you can set it so it does't ring when call comes in. "love, love" this phone.
Can not believe there are some that try to justify the never ending harassing calls this company makes. Never stop calling, day and even late evenings. Scum of the earth!!
THIS IS A SCAM NUMBER - FIRST THEY ARE COMMITTING FRAUD AS CALLER ID IS SHOWING NAME AS FIRST BANK- SECOND HOW THEY GOT MY NUMBER I HAVE NO IDEA- THIRD HAVE NO IDEA WHO THE PERSON IS THEY ARE ASKING FOR AND NO I AM NOT IN DEBT OR HAVE EVER BEEN IN COLLECTIONS AND OWN MY HOME AND CAR FREE AND CLEAR AND DO NOT USE CREDIT CARDS - I AM 74 YRS OLD - GLAD TO SEE THEY ARE INVESTIAGTING THESE COMPANIES AND LEVING HEAVY FINES - The FTC alleged that West Asset Management, Inc. violated the FTC Act and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act when collecting debts from consumers. Here are some of the ways West Asset Management allegedly violated federal law: Calling consumers multiple times each day, often regarding accounts that did not belong to them Using abusive or rude language Telling third parties about debtor's debts Contacting consumers after receiving written notification instructing them to cease contact Withdrawing funds from consumers' bank accounts or charging their credit cards without consent Falsely telling debtors that they would be sued, arrested, or have their property seized if they didn't pay the debt Deceptively claiming that partial payments would settle debts in full, and Claiming that negative information would stay on the debtor's credit reports until debts were paid The FTC enforces the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and maintains information about debt collection complaints, which it compiles into an annual report to Congress. The FTC received 88,190 FDCPA complaints about third-party debt collectors in 2009. The $2.8 million civil penalty is the largest civil penalty the FTC has obtained in a debt collection case. While that fine may send a significant message to the industry about the importance of following federal law when collecting debts, it will not help individual debtors harmed by unfair debt collection tactics. Consumers who believe West Asset Management broke the law in attempting to collect debts from them should consider consulting a consumer law attorney. Under the FDCPA they may be entitled to damages as well as attorney fees.
This number calls constantly- night and day- We are sick of it! Never leaves a message and we no longer answer
If you have a voip phone service and have the ability to block any incoming number run don't walk now and block these miscreants. They call my number at all hours. I have blacklisted them on my voip service and Im sure they hear a nice meaty message telling them to basically get bent but they continue to call me. No worries for me since my phone never rings.
