A woman called and identified herself as secretary Kim. I didn't catch the mane of the Company because she was talking fast with a heavy accent. She flashed a few names: the 'billionaire, world renowned owner' that was obviously too important for us so Jim Athens and Mr. Watson would handle the transaction. She indicated that they were interested in immediately buying the Company I just started working for. I actually have worked with billionaire, renowned investors. This is not how they do business. This is a scam.

Just received a call from Sysil (sp?) Wrather of NY Associates regarding a substantial investment in our company. I'm not forwarding this message to my boss either.

Keep calling but really are saying nothing of importance, seems a scam to me. Throwing around billion dollar deals etc....the one name I googled was from crime family. Something fishy.

Same today, only it was Evelyn Rather from N.Y. Mergers, and used Steve Watson's name as the person who was setting up the financing for this fictitious piece of business. Asked for a name I've never heard of working for us (I'm here 15 years), gave this phone number (which is certainly not a New York area code). I will gladly give this the attention it deserves. (*shreds message*)

Just received a call from Kim Rather advising they wanted my company to fund the purchase of another company. When I called back, spoke to a different person & they advised some "big" corp. was wanting to buy us! I was so confused. Needless to say, this message will not get passed along....not in a serious manner at least. Will get a good chuckle out of it.

A voicemail was left for our CEO from a company called New York Associates, the lady said that the owner "Steve Watson" wants to set up a meeting with our CEO to talk about them buying all or a majority of our multi-million dollar company . Came up with the number: 954-586-1000. Upon a google search, the name is stolen from another lawyer that is not in NY, and repeated fraud claims come up about this number. This is a scam call.

Got a call from this company.. Kelly Rather, and after every sentence she typed something.. then asked another question.. and then asked for the CEO .. I said what is it in regards to .. she stated purchasing HP.. hahaha such funny laughs, I googled them and Steve Watson is a JOKE!

Same issue. Just received the call today..Kelly Rather from New York Associates.. Demanding to speak to the CEO of my company.. Jim Athens wants to purchase.. Her manager is Steve Watson.. Number they gave was 954.586.1000.. One thing I noticed, she was very hesitant to give out the number..

Same, today Kathy from New York Associates (but shows up as Florida Associates on caller ID) left a message about a Jim Athens "one of America's (mumble) investors" wanting to purchase all or a substantial portion of our company. Said to call back her manager Steve Watson at 954 586 1000. Note: had to listen to message 3 times to get all the info, because there was such heavy background noise (of no doubt a hundred other people making the same phony phone calls).

I just got this same call and they said it was NY Private Equity. Thank goodness for Google!
