I missed a call from this number. I called it back to see who it was. The person who answered said they were MDF, a paid fundraiser, calling on behalf of the Catholic Medical Missions Board (CMMB). That is a legitimate charity that we have donated to before. Requests for donations for charitable organizations are exempt from the Do Not Call list. If you don't want them to call, I think you would need to ask to be removed from their calling list.

I signed up for dnc when it first began. Shouldn't have wasted my time. I recently purchased a Panasonic KX-TG6841 phone from Amazon, and it has been one of the best investments I've ever made. It blocks 250 calls supposedly, ( I have about 25 thus far. I found it quite simple to block numbers and though I also bought extra handsets, I find it easier to use the base unit. Telemarketer calls have not and probably never will be stopped completely, but the number of them has been greatly reduced for my wife and I.

I called this number back as they called at 8AM. It was Heifer International, but I suspect this is a call center number that is hired to make calls in behalf of numerous charities or solicitors. I gave them the silent treatment. I do donate to Heifer, so legitimately, I am "their customer" for purposes of the "no call" rules. I think this is what happens: If you donate to a charity, they start hounding you for more! It is very annoying, and makes me want to not donate anything.I just redialed the number and got a message that indeed, it is a company that makes calls for internationally recognized charities and political organizations. They state that these organizations are exempt from national "do not call" lists, but they did have an option to press 2 for being placed on THEIR "do not call" list! Let's see if this cuts down the number of calls I receive. It's hopeful!

Of course I get numerous calls on my landline. Anywhere from 1 to 6 per day. If I'm home, which I rarely am, I use the Caller ID to decide if I answer it. Almost never do. Everyone should stop complaining about being on some Do Not Call list. It's a total f'in joke and everyone knows it. So forget about it and use Caller ID, or a Call Blocker, if it really bothers you so much.

I got a phone call from this number last night at 8:52 pm. I was mad because it was so late so I just called the number and a very nice your lady said they were Heifer International, a charitable organization that I love but can't afford to donate to. I politely asked them to remove my number and she graciously said they would.

Called twice within a couple of hours. Didn't answer and no message left. Caller I.D. shows: Louisiana Call

Caller ID shows "Unavailable" Did not leave a message. We do not answer "Unavailable" Also, we are on the Do Not Call list.

985-635-4267 Called today, CID shows Louisiana. We don't answer calls & let it go to the machine. Lady asks for my husband by 1st & last name, says hello & then she hangs up. Same voice as yesterday, about the same time, but called from 480-739-9060 & CID showed Unknown name. We DO NOT donate over the phone - EVER!

Caller ID = Covington La. Did not recognize the number so blocked the call, as I do for all numbers I don't recognize.
