i tried to text someone and this number texted me back saying that the number wasnt valid when i know that it is and we were both freaked out

Texting my daughters phone and asking "who is this?" Wouldn't answer when she asked who it was. Very strange

This makes sense. But, how do I get rid of this message as I am on an ATT go phone plan and get charged 20 cents each time this message is received, approx. 10x per day. Thanbks

If AT&T cannot deliver a text message to a certain number, you will get an error message back that comes from this # 112-161-1611.At the end of the error message will be a copy of the text you tried to send, for example:" Error Invalid Number. Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code. "If you RECOGNIZE "" as a message you tried to send, then this is probably a legitimate error - AT&T could not deliver the SMS to the recipient. Maybe the phone number isn't really a mobile phone (such as some of the examples I see in the comments above), as you can't text a "real" phone line. Maybe there was a problem in the network and there was an error delivering to a legitimate cell phone.If you DO NOT RECOGNIZE "" then you may have an app installed on your phone that has been granted access to send texts from your phone. I would suggest taking a good look through all of your applications and make sure you don't have some background program installed that might be stealing your information and sending it out without your knowledge. Unfortunately, Android has tons of miscreant applications, so you need to be extra careful with what you choose to download and install, and it would be a good idea to invest in some kind of malware scanner for your phone.

Same here it has sent the same text over 5 times in the period of one moth and also sends it to my contacts using my number.

Please block the number 1121611611 from sending text message to me cell phone.

This number is a common number show in a text. On my AT an T Service to explain that I sent a text to a number that is an Invalid 10 digit number on their network.I did send a message just a few minutes before and found I selected More than One recipient to which one was a bad number.

I get texts from this number every day, at least 2 or 3 a day and AT&T can't help! This is very frustrating. How do we get it to stop?

Does the same on my unlocked RAZR. Another search said it was a tracking number for GPS.
