Just noticing now that it goes from 1 of 7 to only 5 of 7...wonder where 6 is? and idk 7??
I had listed furniture on Craig's List. Had an inquiry from 1(410) 100-001 identifying the caller as anacleto cardillo asking what my final price was and if the items were still available. I responded that it was still available and did lower the price. The next day I received an email from the same person with a Hotmail address. A long explanation of how "she" was a marine biologist and wanted to buy the furniture for her dad's birthday. If interested I was to send PayPal information if I had a PayPal account and if not, how I could set one up. She was usually at sea and had limited access to the internet and making phone calls!?? I replied saying I would not accept payment through PayPal as there were so many scams out there. Today I received a message from 1(410) 100-002 a "sterling carol" asking when could we meet to inspect the furniture. I was asked to reply to stacuuwellos @gmail.com. I don't think the two massages were related as the second number made no reference to the first messages. On reportcraigslist.com I learned that the PayPal payment and gmail address is a scam and resembles what I received. I'm going to take someone's advice above and have the calls blocked on my iPhone. I think what we have here are scammers who look at Craig's List and when they see something of real value attempt to con (old term) the seller somehow, maybe even go to your house and rob them. When someone who I do think is legitimate comes to the house, I will be armed with Montana bear spray.
Received this message at 3:47am. Can it be any shadier? The name of the person it's from and the one mentioned in the message isn't even the same. And why would a random general from a Canadian area code be calling me in the U.S.? I was never party of the military not was my family members.FRM:Chesky, AmberMSG:I am Gen. Diana. I would like to discuss with you private. I can be reached on my private email. DianaMHol@outlook.com
If you text them a question like 'who are you?' They will stop texting you i did that and havent gotten a secound one. I thought it was a stupid text/call pranker or some freak.
You probably had something for sale on Craigslist. It's better (at this time) to list your phone number as "one two three 1234" if your number is 123-1234 in the description to avoid these dirtbags.
