Indeed. The company is unethical & unprofessional by telling people that they have "WON" a holiday. If someone has won a prize there should be no strings attached. Deceptive telemarketing practices are not only unethical but illegal.
I was taken for a ride and stupidly, because they rang at a time when i had a lot to do ie bath the kids pick the wife up from work etc... They have withdrawn £242 from my visa account at first i wanted nothing to do with it, but they were very persistent and phoned me back 3 times to get the final bank details. How can i do anything about this please?
I got a call a little while ago. I decided to play along just to take up their time! Agreeing how wonderful it all sounded. They must have thought that they had got a good bite! I was passed to their Senior Advisor who told me I would need to pay £249 staight away to qualify. I challenged that they expected me to give my credit card details over the phone to a cold caller who had withheld their number. I was told that it was above board just look at their website! I told them that anyone could quote a website, it proved nothing. They told me that it was a perfectly safe transaction as the payment was from my credit card not my personal bank. I refuted this saying that you hear of many people having funds taken out of their credit card account without authorisation. He argued this but got awkward when I said that I was not prepared to give my details, saying that I should have said that I wouldn't 15 mins ago! He then hung up.It was fun wasting their time, hopefully it stopped them talking to some other person and conning them!
Have you had any luck with a refund through your bank? My bank is telling me it will take 120 days
They did me the same way how do you go about getting your money back? I havent a clue where to start. Cheers
moorepoornow.......called Consumer Affairs in ADL. They said an announcement was made in the papers 29/4/08 stating they were a known fraudulent company. My bank is investigating (NAB)and said they need to collect info from the bank that the scum deal with. They have the opportunity to try to prove it is legit and then the NAB can come back with another claim......all up 120 days. Red tape that could drag on 4 months. Have u had any luck?
If you are legit as you say why is there noone answering the phones and why is the web site address false?
Thank G-d, they didn't get my credit card.I was on the line with a women calling herself "Nicole Shelfin" (?) after having spoken to her rooky assistant "Kim" (perhaps they change their names regularly?). They were offering a $3,000 Florida vacation deal for $299. Before I gave them all my contact details, I Googled their name along with the word "scam" and found a warning. I cancelled everything immediately, without explanation. If what I am now reading is true, this is a VERY slick operation sounds evil. and they WILL be punished severely. Please keep posting warnings and RING THE POLICE (like I have done) and any authorities with your concerns and complaints, especially if you have been hit. Thanks for these vital forums (and Google) for allowing people to get the message out. It will save people. NB. I did not have caller ID on the phone they called.
