Just got called. This world sucks. 202-210-0054 African accident stating he was from the Federal Grants Department. There was a pause before he spoke. Tell em to suck it!
It a lie they told me we was getting a great then ask for $250.00 to get it. They have my bank account info
I got the call and it was a lady with a heavy Indian accent. I thought she said $5k but she can't English speak good (lol). I'm wondering how many people that were contacted have been replying to craigslist ads? She said something about the grant being for people who have no criminal history and I've been using craigslist recently looking for an apartment. I've had a couple places that were shady...one guy is in the Ukraine on business and wanted to rent his place in Florida....smed shady so I told him to forget it. I'm wondering...
I received a call on my cell phone from 1-202-210-0054 on 4-10-13. I did notrecognize the # and was unable to take the call at the time. No message was left bythe caller. I, too, am on the "Do Not Call Registry", but, obviously, it does no good.
Received call a few minurtes ago. Stated in thick foreign accent that I had money coming from the US Treasury. I told him this was a scam and hung up.
I can't believe these people exist. And I hope no one is falling for it. What a joke. Don't ever give your information away to anyone, unless you're able to check their credentials. And are FULLY sure that they're legit. The guy that called me said "Okay??" after every single sentence he said to me:"You have been selected to receive $9000 grant from the U.S. governemnt, okayy??"I just kept saying okay after everything he said, just to see how long he would go on and to see how much of his time I could waste before I happily hung up on him.
Damn number hit my cell. No idea and didn't answer. So someone with a heavy accent letting me know I about my 7-9K grant money. Darn, I wish I picked up - Another number on the "BLOCK" In the next iPhone, Android update...we should be able to see the unknown ID scammers, there should be a button to forward the caller directly to the FTC, some Govt agency that handles this crap. THAT ability, it's the only thing I want for the next 5 Christmases .
just got a call from this number, told me he was from some government department of grants. I kept him on the line for about 5 minutes and kept asking his questions, his name(sam) about the street his office was on(independence blvd?), the local weather(unknown), baseball(said he didn't understand the question), breakfast cereals(didn't understand), who is local congress person is(didn't respond), when I asked if the department of grants will be facing layoffs of & hours reductions as a result of sequestration and how he felt about that, he hung up on me
Same thing. He said his name was David Williams, but pronounced it "Dah-veed". I kept laughing, asking him what he wanted. Also said he was from the US Government. Then I asked for his phone number, so I could call him back when I had a moment to chat because I was very interested in what he had to tell me. After stumbling, and dragging it out, he provided some numbers, but he clearly was asking someone what to say. I kept saying "just tell me your number, what is your number, don't you know your return call back number? Tell me your number so I can call you back right away to discuss this." Then I hung up.
