I just received a call from this number and he offered me $9,000 for being a good citizen and some other jibberish and said it with a heavy accent and asked how did all that sound? I said I couldn't understand half of what he said and he hung up!

am registered on the Do Not Call List...apparently this doesn't work....anything to get a "BUCK" from a person....

Yaaa!!! I got 2 calls from the US Dept of Something or Other and got 2 government grants. That's right baby. $9000 each, A few more of these calls and I am going to buy a summer house in Hawaii. It is also encouraging that our government is hiring immigrants to notify me of my good luck. Especially since I never applied for a grant. But I guess that is just a small technicality.

Similar call--After asking caller several times to repeat because his accent was too thick to easily understand, i was told I received a $9,000 grant from US Grants Department. Money was in Federal Reserve Bank waiting for me to give bank account number or card number to which frnds could be transferred eletronically. When I told him that I knew that it was a scam, but that I felt like pl;aying along with him, he tried to persuade me it was legitimate. After stringing him along for a while I told him that my sole purpose in listening to him was that during the time he was speaking to me, he could not be on the phone talking to someone more gullible. The sad think is that I had a client who was taken in by one of these despicable scammers.

THAT I WILL RECEIVE $9000, IN MY BANK ACCOUNT..ALL I NEED TO DO IS GIVE THEM MY ACCOUNT NO.THIS IS A SCAM.... PLEASE DO NOT GIVE OUT INFORMATION

Received a call from this number on cell phone, did not answer it as I did not recognize the number. I always screen calls on cell phone, because of all the scams.

Same just happened to me, as soon as I heard her "pitch" I hung up..

Same here . I told the caller that they were calling a restricted government line and we were aware of their scam. They immediately hung up. The Do Not Call Registry doesn't work for my cell phone

File a complaint at the donotcall.gov website since your registered. File as many complaints as you can. The complaint is then investigated by the Federal Trade Commission. The company can be fined up to 16,000 dollars for each violation they make by calling a number that is registered. Just filed my complaint! The more complaints the better.
