Same here - was on another call, looked it up when no message was left. Thanks for this information.....

My husband received this call yesterday and me today. He googled it yesterday so I knew when it came in, the same scam. What is baffling to me is why use this number if so many people have posted about it? Dumb.

Same story as above, caller asked what I was going to do with the $9000. Told her, "Nothing, I do not believe you are from the US Government."

Got a call from this number and I said hello a couple of times and then the caller hung up.

Called my work cell phone to which is registered to the company I work for. Identified himself with a heavy accent and claimed to be from the Federal Government. I was not nice. #1 The federal government would not contact me on my work cell. they would send me a letter. #2. I don't give this number out for personal use. #3. Were it the federal government I'd probably be under a federal jail somewhere. ;)

I got a call today on my cell phone at work from a guy with a thick accent saying he was from the U.S Government and that I had been selected to receive $9,000 for being a model citizen. I let him do his script and when he asked me how I want to receive the money I told him I would like it in the form of Gold bars delivered to my front door. We must have been a bad connection because the line went dead at that point. Hope he calls back soon so I can get my Gold. ;-)These people must think we are all idiots if they expect anyone to fall for this.

Lady with thick accent telling me I won a $9000 grant from federal government for paying my bills on time! Wow if only life worked like this! Definitely a scam, and i did not stay on for entire call. But from what i understand they want your bank account information to "transfer" the money. More like transfer your money out of your account!

This number tried ringing me up. It was listed as 11-202-210-0054. I don't answer numbers I don't recognize. Then I googled the number and was brought here. I gave my hubs and MiL the heads up. Glad I didn't answer.

Got the call last night. Female with heavy accent stated she was with US Dept of "?". Grabbed my whistle and blew several times. She hung up. This works quite well.
