Got this totally unsolicited call. Turns out t'was from DC area. Wanted me to press a no if I wanted my name of the list. Just another scam!!!!
They called around 2:30. When I said hello they said they would transfer me to the FBI. Then I hung up because I didn't know what was going on. Creeped me tf out.
They said that they got my records from the DMV and that they know that my warranty has expired. I don't even live in the US (I have a US VOIP number, though) or own a car. Haven't owned a car in 10 years. Hmmmm...
I actually just got a call saying the FBI reccomends you have a sign in your yard to prevent break ins. If you allow us to put up a sign we will install a security system free. Press 1 to hear more. Press 9 to get on our do not call list. I pressed 9 and it hung up. (202) 888-6297DC, USA
Of course you do know that the real purpose of the call is to sign you up for the monitoring service which is far from free and almost always more expensive than if you contacted a local security company to install and monitor your system.
Now claims to be sum message from the FBI lol I hung up and called back got no answer so sent a email to the fbi about this number claiming to be them we will see who comes out on top now
I was doing homework and got a call from this number. I thought it was one of my friends but it said it was from DC. The voice said my response was invalid.
I resent spammers calling my cell phone. Only a few people even know the number and I have never put it on the Internet. I see from reading posts from others that it is the same scammy car warranty thing that has been calling for years.
