Yea -- -getting the calls here in MD, Just started a few days ago, 8:30, 8:28PM, Trying to figure out how to opt out or block.
I use to work for this company. They do research mostly for the government but also some customer service. The do not call list doesn't apply to them because they don't sell anything or ask for money. To get them to leave you alone either say that they reached a business line or that you are not a resident of the house hold and the only resident is hard of hearing or other wise unable to answer questions. If you still get calls tell them the same thing until they get it. Most of the workers either don't care or are incompetent, but that'll get you out of the system. They use a thing called a random dialer that allows for certain loopholes and you may get called back for a different study by accident. In general I understand that they can get very annoying but getting angry and telling them not to call back leads to a wholeprocess that will have you called back a lot. Its just easier to say you're a business.
Called me today at 6:54pm, no caller ID name, I gave them the 3 tones recording (doesn't seem to be working, see below). This is the 4th call I've gotten today from 4 different numbers:#1 401-365-6294 "TAX DEFENSE" @ 12:25pm#2 619-600-2062 with no CID name @ 3:42pm#3 480-526-5585 with no CID name @ 4:30pm#4 212-448-5501 with no CID name @ 6:54pmNo sure about the first one, but the other 3 are undoubtedly the same place, probably SRBI Inc as discussed in this thread. If anyone from SRBI is reading this, thanks for bothering me all day long and wasting my time. Oh, and go f**k yourself.
The main office is in new York and they call numbers based on area code not where you live. Tell them they reached a business number and your number will be taken out of the system. I use to work for them
They have called every week for three weeks. They claim to be doing a survey. I informed them that 1) I am on the Do Not Call List, 2) please take me off their list and 3) that I will be turning them in. The woman claimed that the Do Not Call list does not apply to them because they're not selling anything. I told her that if they are not a charity or a political organization then they are not allowed to call. I repeated that I didn't want them to ever call me again and hung up. Then I reported them to the Do Not Call List. I doubt that reporting them does any good, I only think reputable companies look at the list and I don't think the government has time to pursue people that don't abide by it. But if they do look at the offenders that have been reported than I think that it's important that each and everyone of us report each and every call. I reported these people for ALL of their calls to me.
called at 8pm PST, didn't pick up my cell, later on i saw that i have a voicemail but no one said anything and the only thing i could hear is a bunch of background noise and people talking... weird. is it one of those "big brother watching" calls?
They are a subsidiary of abt associates, where ever you got this info is wrong, just tell them you are a business and your number will be taken out of the system
By the way, that rule that allows "researchers" to call you only applies if they are not selling anything. I sincerely doubt that is the case with SRBI - I went to their website and there is no way to email them - ALL of the corporate executives have the same email address (info@srbi.com), when I emailed them it came back as an invalid email address. A company that was doing things lawfully wouldn't make it so hard (or impossible) to reach them and they would also remove you from their calling list if you didn't want to be bothered with them. Something about this company just stinks, I really don't think they are legitimate and I urge you call to report them to the Do Not Call List.
