This number called at 10:00 this morning. I saw it was an international call and quickly answered thinking it was my best friend Danilo calling me from Brasil. As soon as i answered they hung up. About an hour later they called again. Again they hung up when i answered. I called back thinking something was wrong with Danilo. I heard a machine say, "Please wait while your call is being connected" And music started playing. So I waited and waited and finally sombody answered. I think it was a mexican, but I'm not for sure. The call is probably through an Internet service - many people that travel pay a flat fee to make unlimited internet calls from anywhere, even internatonally from their laptop or PCs. I have a musician friend that travels a lot and uses it, sometimes this number shows up and other times the # reads 000-014-1589 for example.

Called 7 times! Once while on the phone with SBC. That call came up "international" 1-214-586-0999 & the 6th out of 7th call popped up as 1-551-343-1049. First time they hit a number key on their keypad. The second time music (of some sort) times 3 & 4 were loud static. The 5th time the idiot did not know I had him on speaker and "mute" and it took him a while to realize someome had answered after he was whistling, waiting. Then he hung up. We called the cops. While on their way, the idiot called a 6th time, and we put him on speaker (muted) and listened to the music. The 6th call came from 1-551-343-1049, though, and while on the phone the other line rang with an unknown, and he had hung up with this call. Cops came, we made a report and they are looking into it.

I just got a call from this number but I missed it. I immediately went online to investigate the number and found this forum. This is just 1 of several weird numbers that have called my phone. Which really pisses me off since this is a new phone and number that I got for Christmas. The way I have been dealing with it is to put the numbers in a call group on my phone. I now have 4 numbers in this "special" group that I named "F**K U", only with all the letters. The reason is simple. Since I can only give ringtones to groups and not individuals, this particular groups ringtone is silent and no vibrate. So when they call nothing happens. Except 1 little beep that means I missed a call. Thats how I deal with it and maybe it will work for some of you.

never seen the number before, when I answer, no one is there, this is identical behavior to another number that did this to a hundred folks a year or so ago, there was a bit of police action for harassment before they company vanished, I guess they are back with a new number.

I am getting missed calls from the number 214-586-0999. I don't how to block it. Please advise me.

Missed a call this afternoon that showed this phone number. I didn't recognize it and checked the area code - it showed Dallas. My best friend lives in Texas and had been hospitalized in Dallas. I assumed it was her so I called back. It said, "Please wait while we connect your call" and then music continued to play for over one minute. I finally hung up. Then I put the number in google and got this site. I am registered to the Do Not Call Cell Phone List.

I wrote to my phone service explaining my problem and told them that if they couldn't stop it then these numbers better not show on my bill. I now have 5 different numbers calling me. I'm still waiting to hear back from them. In the mean time I add them to my silent ring group so they never ring my phone. Today I bought 1 of those little obnoxious extremely loud air horns. I then changed the ringtone to a siren so if 1 of them calls me I WILL answer the phone and blast them with it. That should cure it.

My story is exactly the same as jeanne even the fact that I am on the do not call list. I would like to know who is giving our numbers out. What is awesome is that the phone companies the have these numbers allow these type of problems to happen. I run a business and try to call back any missed numbers and am always afriad of getting scammed.
