I called my boyfriend tonight and the phone number on his caller ID was 865-6696, no area code, he answered and it was me. This isn't my number and I don't understand how that happened at all but there's another piece to discuss.

I started getting calls from 865-6696 and you cant block the number because you dont have an area code. Who ever it is doesnt leave a message, I just started declining the call when it shows up not much else I can do.

I have an IPHONE also this number showed up on my caller ID, I did not pick up

after answering my telephone to and odd number claming that i signed up up for an all cash sweepstakes.i asked how did they get my infromation they said its a major credit card promotion that includes visa mastercard discover and amex and that i was choses to recieve a free watch and a 40 month subscription to 2 magazines of my choice.so i went ahead and went on with the process.but her i am just like the rest of you confused of how or why they would have gotten my number.i never recalled signing up for this sweepstakes or did i?so after all being said and done i just got off the phone with my bank for about and hr and im being issued a new card.P.S.THIS IS A SCAAMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!i also notices someone said they just got the iphone 4s, i did too! maybe its has something to do with it maybe not!

I too just received a call from this number, but when I listened to the voicemail it was from a company I do notary work for. I'm wondering if "known" callers get this number in the past on my blackberry this caller showed up as unknown. I too just recently got an Iphone.

Got iphone about a month ago and jsut started getting calls from 865-6696 with no area code. the foreign caller said he was from the Governments Grants office and i just was authorized for a 7k grant i don't have to pay back. He wanted to verify my address, name, and banking information. I told him to stop calling me and hung up. He calls back and threatens me saying not to talk to a government offical like that. He has called back about 4-5 times a day. i have asked for him to meet me somewhere so we can "work it out". I don't take crap from these guys but obvously he refused. Beware.

i believe this is a ghost number, designed to burn mins on your phone for the phone companies to make an extra penny on your bill, they don't need to call you a billion times but call a billion people one time and have a log of it and charge lets say a penny, well what is a billion pennies over a few million peeps. I notice that there are a bunch of numbers out there on blogs just like this that have no area code, in fact they seem to have what every area code for just the number they are calling or some call center out of the country you can't call back, guess what the call back cost money to. JUST A THOUGHT. I would call your phone service provider and see if you can't get that call off your billing and or black such numbers.

Me too! I've tried to report them but they need an area code!

I just got it, it was a recording said someone would be with me shortly. Got an iPhone 4S yesterday. Might be Sprint.
