I just received a call from 865-6696 and the guy was saying that there was an issue on my computer he needed to look at. I explained to him that this call was abviously bogus and I am a security technician and didn't need his help. I then asked what IP number he had on record for my computer. He said "You are a technician and don't know your IP number?" Needless to say the call went downhill from there with me ending up calling him an idiot and saying not to bother me again. I hung up. Within seconds I received another call from him saying it didn't matter if I wanted their help or not, I was required to do what they said. I got more abusive and hund up. Within seconds I got yet another call, which I let voice mail answer. Finally in about 2 minutes I got one more call from the same number. I answered it and this time was very nice. The guy said if I was a technician, he was offering me a job in Virginia. I politly said I was not interested at which point he said I had to take it. I laughed and said that I appreciate his sense of humor and please do not call back. I also explained i am on the National Do Not Disturb Registry. I hung up and have not received any more calls.

Ever since my husband and I got our iphones we started having the same problem. Someone calling from 865-6696.... when I called my husband, the number showed up on his phone!!! We ended up hanging up. I don't know who this fool is but I'm so annoyed. Afraid to give out billing information over the phone anymore. I called my electric company and hit the button for them to call me back to make a payment. 10 minutes later that number comes up requesting to put me on the line from the electric company. I hung up!!! I'm so annoyed. Ready to get rid of this iphone!!!

I've been getting this crap recently for the past 3 days. I haven't picked up, though.

Same deal. No area code. Has called the last two weeks. They actually left a message for me today. I live in Dallas/Fort Worth area. It was Time Warner Cable calling.

That is weird. I just the new iPhone and the same number keeps showing up on my phone too.

Does she have an iPhone? Since I got my iPhone, I get calls back from this "number" when I have multiplc calls going and I hang up on one and don't go to the other - it rings back with this number, it happens at other time too, always associated with a call in some way - I have either just missed the call, not gone back to a call - something

We are investigating this issue at Sprint in the iPhone dept. Today is the first we have heard of this in this group. We got a call and the customer said he received the call from 865-6696 with a garbled message. It does spell they work UNKNOWN on your dial pad as Buck mentioned. We believe this to be b/c the system can not decipher the number these scammers are calling from so it sends out 865-6696 (UNKNOWN). A quick fix for this would be to download a restricted or blocked caller app to avoid getting these calls. This would force them to call you directly and reveal their number. Of course they will not do this so your problem is solved. Long term, I'm not sure if this is something that Sprint or any carrier can "fix". This would probably have to be resolved by the FCC or other related overseer.

For two days straight I have gotten a call from this number. It shows up on my caller ID as 865-6696, with no area code, suggesting it is a local number. But when I dial it back for my area code (985), I get a recording that tells me the number or code I have dialed is incorrect. There never is anyone on the other line and it simply disconnects. I know someone mentioned an iPhone, which is what I have.No clue who or what it is.

Same thing happens to me with my iPhone.

Yeah I have an iPhone and ever since I have had them calling me first saying they were from a college then asking for one of my parents and they call 4-5 times a day!
