Right name. Wrong person. The question "Are you Sarah Conner?", comes to mind. Then they called 4 more times withing 20 minutes.
These people are total BullSh*t they have many # they call from I have received 2 calls from different #'s one was the 215-441-3000 and the other is 866-442-0536. Both are from the same place. First time I wasn't at my phone so I called back the # and the women said it was for a Chervon card I had 10 YEARS AGO....No sorry I will NOT be sending you money. This time I didn't answer my phone. Just know they have many many #'s to call from.
Telling them to stop calling is virtually useless. What ALL of you should be doing is reporting NCO to the Federal Trade Commission. Their tactics are illegal, and the FTC investigates such complaints. NCO went as far as to start calling my father (same name senior, but 900 miles away from where I live.Back to the FTC. Once you written them a cease and desist letter (I'd send it certified, return receipt), they absolutely must stop calling you. Document everything: every conversation with every rep, every missed call where a message is left, EVERYTHING!.If the FTC sues NCO you will be included in the class. The FTC will notify you of said lawsuit.
Actually, moron, an "inconvenient time" is determined on the state and federal level, by both the state the collector works in, as well as the caller's state.
I find it kinda weird you guys are saying its from XBox or Sprint.. I didn't answer it... and I Don't have a Xbox or sprint...
A debt collector cannot: * Telephone you an unreasonable number of times * Telephone you at an unusual time/ unusual place * Disclose information of your debts to third parties * Use profane or other abusive language * Contact you after written notification that you do not want to be contacted any further * Claim to be affiliated with any governmental organization * Misrepresent the character, amount or legal status of a debt * Threaten of to take any action that cannot be taken legally * Accuse you having committed a crime * Threaten or communicate false credit information * Attempt to collect, until he honors your request to validate * Use deceptive methods to collect debts * Call you before 8:00 a.m. or after 9:00 p.m. * Call you, but not announce who he/she is . . . and more
received a call from this number for someone I know. Have never heard of them but have received calls such as this before from a different number.
Um, so I don't have any debt in collections...why would these people be calling me? I didn't answer, they don't leave messages..I just Googled the phone number and found this thread.
Send them a Cease and Desist letter. After that, if they continue to harass you, you can take legal action. (I just googled Cease & Desist letters to get an example).I hate how bill collectors think they have the right to bother you at work! Not to mention call everyone you know to embarrass you.. they all need someone to call THEM and see how THEY like it!I just found the "block caller" on my phone and blocked them. I'm pretty sure cell phone companies offer this service as well.Hope that helps.
