they call and call never say anything then you call back and the person that answers say they didnt call>>>>>our goverment whats to get in our personal lives so bad why cant they do something about idiots like this??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
There is a very easy way to get them to back off, or if you do have a debt with them, to get them to treat you better. All You have to do is if you get a live person on the call, tell them the the conversation is being recorded. I record all calls from debt collectors, and as long as you notify them right in the beginning, either they will stop calling, or if you do talk to them, they are much easier to deal with. They will say and do anything to try to collect a debt and many of their tactics, are ILLEGAL!!! If you record them, or at least tell them they are being recorded, they will act more professionally. There have been several cases involving collection agencies harassing people, and you CAN win if you have them recorded. Just make sure they identify themselves and what company they are with. Don't let them bully you.
yep me too, thing is....I had a collection agency call me to say I could settle with them. They said I could pay by credit card. Wanted my card number etc. They asked me to confirm some info by answering their questions. So I turned it around on them and told them they called me and should have any info they needed to confirm it is me they called. So I told them they had to give ME info that proved they really were legit. They could not even answer where I lived. They did not have my mother's maiden name etc. So I told him if they wanted to settle to send it to me in the mail. He hung up on me. NO, do not EVER give out info to prove who you are over the phone. There are too many liars out there trying to steal from you. If you give them personal stuff like your mother's maiden name, last 4 digits of soc sec etc.... then you give them enough info to steal from you.
Call me looking for some guy I've never heard of. When I tell them I have no idea who that person is, they say, "You're sure you've never heard of ***?" Like I might suddenly remember that I know the guy. No, sorry, don't know him. I've had this number for over 10 years and this just started within the last 6 months or so. I wish I could find the guy who gave them my number.
