Just got called by Rosie (sooo Indian) on 1 231 836 7565 then passed to her "manager" Jay (also Indian).Actually Jay (bless his cotton socks) did admit he is a ransom wear guy after I played along with the "Oh dear" "That's terrible" stuff being careful never to say "Yes" to any question. Interestingly when I asked "which computer" was sending out the 'error messages' he said "All of them!" I asked if this was therefore a problem with the computer(s) or the router. His answer was almost as entertaining as the fake news on the TV. Pretzels come to mind....Bottom line these guys are scammers and not even particularly good ones.
They say that you're windows computer has been downloading loads of malicious software and they can clean it up. I don't have any windows computers. When I told him that I definitely haven't had a windows computer in over 5 years he sounded a bit angry and said "well I have this information right here that you do" then I hung up and blocked him.
Says he is from Computer Technical Support. Speaks in an Indian Accent. Hung up on him! Tried calling the number back, I get a busy signal.
Please! Please! Do not fall for this scam!! They will say they are from the computer technical compartment. They will keep talking right over you. My roommate fell for this scam, $250 later, I stopped him in the middle of it! By then he was in his computer and had access to his banking information, etc. after he fell for it, he said he needed to go but 19 $100 iTunes gift cards or he would lose his job! My roommate did not even know what hey were! They had very thick accents, can tell they are in a call center from the background. The first time they called me, I gave them the air horn. Idiots called me right back. The obscenities came flying out of my mouth. Now they are blocked three different ways. PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM!!!!!

Scammers calling from "Computer Technical Services" saying that your computer is telling them it is infected. They will tell you to install remote control software such as LogMeIn/LogMeInRescue or TeamViewer and then take over you computer and show you innocuous commands and logs make it look infected and get you to pay them money to do nothing.

Called and asked me to return call about a musical instrument that must be returned immediately. Got my name wrong as well. Scammers.

Got my name wrong, no where near close to the person they're trying to scam/contact. Call came from North Texas, left no company name, nothing. Shady asf, 888 area code is commonly used by scammers so this may not be legit.

Sent an email trying to encourage people to call Bank of America at this number. As phishing attempt go, this one was better than most. I can smell these things a mile away.
