It must be a scam.. I didn't answer the call, bu then called them back. I got a phone recording stating the verizon number has been disconnected...
I also have received a call on my cell phone but did not answer because caller-ID said it was from Washington. My question is why doesn't the FCC use all the complaints recorded in 800Notes to crack down on these spammers. I am very annoyed. One spammer calls me on an average of twice a week saying "Hi this is Heather there is nothing wrong with your credit," They have no option to stop the calls or if you wind up connecting with a live person they will hang up on you. I have tried the AT&T annoyances, filed a report with the local police department, and even a complaint with the FCC. None would take action to stop them. How come if I call the same person over and over its called harassment yet if an advertiser does it its called freedom of speech?
Actually by answering the phone and admitting to a debt or sending a payment will reset the statute of limitations. Consumer advocacy groups recommend denying the debt and asking them to prove it is yours.

I called Citibank's other number and confirmed this was their Consumer Support number. It is legitimate. Processed the information they needed to verify my account. I originally thought it was fraud but it is real.

We receive calls at our place of business from these people every day and they claim to be with Spectrum. It sounds like a call center in India; noisy background noise and each person who calls has a strong accent.
