They keep calling but never talk on the answering machine.

A lady was talking so fast and with a accent I couldnt understand her. She kept saying I had a virus I was passing around and malicious ware and I said what are you talking about and she kept saying I was passing malicious ware and viruses from my computer and I never send anything and have protection on my computer, then i asked if they were trying to sell something and she said yes and I said I was on the DO NOT CALL LIST and she hung up.

I got the same here in Ireland today. I asked him where he was and he said "London". Nonsense! A scam for sure.

me too. they call every day/night. the last time I picked up and listened to their 'spiel', I told them 1)Windows is not a company. 2) there is no way that my computer is 'putting out malicious data' 3) how could they possibly know that my computer is doing this and about to crash?when they said, 'because all Windows computers are centrally connected to a main computer I had had enough 'fun' and told him he was lying and that he was a criminal and that he had aleady been reported to the FBI and that the call was traced.

Had a message wanting to fix my computer...this number came up when "hotmail" would not come through.

It's a scam. I am proficient in computers and your computer will not randomly send errors to a site that could conveniently record them and then proactively call you to offer free assistance. I'm pretty sure it's a phishing scam and will be reporting all the information I obtained from him to the FBI. I believe if you connect and let them access your computer they will steal any personal information they can obtain. They will take quite a bit of foul language and yelling before they hang up. Actually, I had to tell him he was a liar because I run UBUNTU before he disconnected. When I called back I got a recording it's a disconnected Verizon number.

i got this same call on august 29,2012 today at 4:02pm, the guy say my computer is running very slowly,and after that i didn't understand what he was saying to me.so i asked him to put someone on the phone that that could speak better english.and he just hang up the phone.

I've just blocked the number after reading the comments here. I'm an IT person myself and have some anger management issues with people who pull this crap. (*laughter*) So, I'll just block and let the Raging Granny deal with them.Thanks for the info.
