Got a call from this number 12538203089 - tried telling me something is wrong with my PC, i played him and got this website which in turn gives them access to your pc, www.support.mewe need microsoft and log me in to shut them down
Received a phone call from them stating they worked for windows operating system and were getting messages from my computer about a virus. Asked their name and was told Ashley King, had an Indian accent and sounded like a man. Asked where they worked again and he repeated the same as above. Informed him that I work for the local court system and would be contacting the prosecutor about their scam. Informed them that windows would not contact me regarding viruses on my computer. Ashley became angry and argumentative telling me I needed to go to my computer. I became bored with the conversation and hung up the phone. If it were for real, they would not be yelling at me! Will be having a conversation with the prosecutor in the morning! Watch out Ohio!
Wow I am soooo glad for this website. Got the call tonight and "Bonnie" was eager to fix my computer, errors have been received and she could walk me thru a fix. It was 9 pm really?! Gave me a number to call back when I have time. Could barely hear her cuz all the folks in her room were talking the same yak. Thanks again all for this alert. I know times are tough but why do we have to be put thru this crap? And some poor innocent person will get sucked in. I'm always having to warn my senior dad about this kind of stuff.
Same BS here too. East Indian with crappy english telling me my computer is infected and I should turn it on so he can assist me in cleaning it up. My computer was already on, which I guess he never knew, obviously, I've heard of this BS before and it just doesn't pass the stink test to begin with. I asked him how stupid he thought I was telling him both he and I knew damn well my computer was fine and I knew this wa sa scam, nothing more. Coward didn't even have the guts to stay on the line, just silence till he hung up. Beautiful.
I received a phone call from this number about 10 minutes ago and didn't answer it. Now, after reading all of your input, I decided to see what was up with this and figured I'd have a little fun with some moron thinking he was gonna scam me. So I tried to call this number - gee, what a surprise! "Your call cannot be completed. Please check the number and try again".
just received a call from them, Indian, asked for access to my computer because windows was infected, the usuall crap from below. I played along for a few minutes, then stated I have an apple and its infected with windows or was that windows infects apples, eventually they hung up.
Got a call from this number about three hours ago. The person sounds like an East Indian but he said he was calling from Florida. He asked if I was sitting in front of the computer and when I said no, he said his system could see that I was surfing through the Internet. He even got my first name correct. Not sure how he did it. He was going to say something wrong with my computer but I interrupted him because I have received this type of calls before. When I asked him to remove my name from the list and I said this is a scam, he immediately hanged up. I don't feel comfortable now because whatever it is at the other side may be able to tap into my computer to steal info since they are aware when I am online.
Received a call from this scheme today.Mentions that they are calling from Microsoft and Principals, a Channel Partner with Microsoft. What ever that means.I mentioned that I will call them back and to provide me with a number.I was given the following number 323-420-8801. I may, or may not, decide to call it in the future to determine whether that number is a legitimate way to find these individuals and potentially bring suit.
I received a phone call last week, a guy with strong accent (India) He said that He was calling from MS that I was having trouble with my computer. He sent me a window wich open on my computer with a number and a password. I stupidily click. He said that he could install a protection antivirus. I said, no I have Norton. Thenhe said that he had deleted that program I became very upset because I did not authorize him to do it. He sent again the same window and I canceled. After that He has been calling several times. My answer machine recorded three of the phone calls, in one of them that person spell out my last name. I was scare that he put something in my computer. A friend came today and check my computer and it is O.K. I had already changed my password. I appreciated that you find out who are these people and stop them.
