Beware of what ? They are a 501c(3) tax deductible charity that gives FREE death benefits to officers families. Yes that word was free.No dues like some other so-called charities (fop,troopers,etc...). And the phone number belongs to the guy who had is last John Farrell.Dont belive me call Verizon ask them. It only shows as John Farrell in different parts of the state(MD)other parts it is the Police Protective Fund.A real charity.Go to www.policeUSA.com and look. If you belive everything you hear the martians have landed !
Thanks for the warning! This # was on my caller ID the other day, I was wondering who John Farrell was and why he'd be calling me. I'm on the "Do Not Call" list which OF COURSE excludes charities and politicians. However it was my understanding that if you told these organizations not to call you, they'd have to leave you alone for at least a year - is that correct?
When the call is at 9pm and the kids are in bed, it is very disruptive. This is my time. I got an unlisted phone number for a reason. What do you suggest I do outside at 9pm at night?
I got a call this evening from the Police Protective Fund. When I said "no thank you," he said "Thank you for being so rude," then he uttered an expletive and hung up. Last year same thing happened. Who are these guys, and does the Better Business Bureau know about them? I don't appreciate being harrassed.
I got a call from this number as I do many times when I don't answer. This time I did answer and they asked for my husband. When I said he wasn't home, the man immediately hung up on me.
Called again at 7:17 the other night again, no matter how many times you ask to be removed from their list it does no good, they still keep calling.
My wife answered the call and when they identified themselves as the Police Protection Fund she gave the phone to me. Drew identified himself and his cause. I asked him what number he was calling from and his reply was the Rockville, Md. call center, but the number was not available to the callers. I asked him for his address and I would send him a few dollars. He believed the address was 112 NE Corridor West and asked me to hold the phone while he called his supervisor over. I held the (dead) phone until the phone company recording came on. I called *69 (cost $0.75) to get the phone number. I'm calling the local police.
I just received a call from this number. However, I did not answer my phone since I don't for any number I don't recognize.
Calls our number...hangs up when answered. NOT a number that we recognize. Found this site when googling the phone number.
