NEWFLASH.The national do-not-call list is exempt to NON-Profit organizations the PPF is a non-profit so them calling you is legal. Now they have their own internal DNC LIST you just have to ask them thats what i did now no more calls.Imagine that
"ABUSE" thats a funny word because it's the term of someone who feels hurt what if thats their falt and theirs alone
I just got a call and it came up on caller ID as John Farrell 301-762-6650. Guess this guy is still trying to scam people. Just wanted to let everyone know. Be careful.
The obnoxious NYC-sounding schmuck on the other end of the line called himself "Chris" when he phoned tonight. Told him he had the wrong number, and he hardly missed a beat before going into the Police Protective spiel. What I said to him cannot be published here. I have a good ear for voices, and I'm pretty sure this guy has called me before with some kind of gold-investment nonsense.
Suz,That "large room with lots of other voices" could be phony too. Saw an ad a few weeks ago from someone selling a CD with a loop track of "busy office" noises. These callers are worse than anything I've ever had to scrape off my shoe.
Received a call from them at 7:30 pm on 04/23/08 - I didn't answer. The police don't cold call people for donations of any kind.
Got a call from this number at 3:37pm on April 25 2008. My sister picked it up and he asked if her mom or dad was home. She asked who it was and he said "The Police Protection" or something of that nature. He then asked again for her mom or dad. She said to hold on and gave the phone to her mom, as which point he had hung up. I just called the number back and I also heard an answering machine about the police protective fund. You could tell that it was not a professional and the message was broken up weirdly, like someone was trying to make it sound like a buisness machine. I Googled the website but did not go to it, but other sites google picked up were talking about how it was a scam.
I just got a call from this number and the called ID said "police protection". I happen to work at a law office and answered the phone (good afternoon. Law office.) He immediately said, I have the wrong number and hung up. So, this is how you can get rid of him.
Anyone gotten calls from a telemarketer named Anne or Anne Pasquet soliciting charity donations?
This is a flat out lie.The Police Protective Fund only gave two death benefits that year.Alot of money went into programming for the organization. But no one ever looks into that before writing a derogatory comment. Here's a couple of facts for my post.1.The P.P.F. sends out and entire enrollment packages to every police dept. in the U.S.but maybe that stuff is free? WRONG..Also they sponser Law Enforcer Saftey Month every November and they send online interactive CD's ans DVD's on saftey training and ways to deal with new terrorist threats across the U.S. as well. This person say's it went to salaries.I find that hard to belive-OLW
