You shouldn't have the same account as your GF. You should dump the account and the GF.
I received the same call, referring to my corporate card. The caller identified herself as Card Services and alerted me as to charges attempted. I said they are fradulent and the caller said she would cancel my card and reissue it. Subsequently, i called the BOA fraud services folks and they confirmed that they had indeed called and had canceled my card and were reissuing. I confirmed the validity of this contact.
I have recently been added to Bank of America's "special repayment program" and receive numerous calls from them. I just got a call from 302-458-1590, went online and found this site, and did not answer the call. I then called Bank of America and asked them if they could tell me whether or not this was a legitimate BOA number and was told that they only call from 800, 866, 877 numbers. I'm glad I was sitting in front of my computer because I might not have questioned the legitimacy of the call since I am dealing with BOA quite often right now. Thank you and good luck stopping these people!!!
I CAN ASURE U THAT THIS NUMBER IS NOT FRAUD IT IS A LEGIT BANK OF AMERICA NUMBER THE 302 COMES ACROSS BECAUSE WE HAVE A CALL CENTER IN NEWARK PEOPLE NEED TO DO MORE RESEARCH GIVING FALSE INFORMATION IS JUST AS BAD AS NOT GIVING INFORMATION
in my case, the call was legit. it was from the BofA fraud dept to verify my previous and current addresses. unfortunately, the fraud dept automatically canceled my Dell order and i was asked to resubmit the order (basically, call Dell). but, regardless of the situation, you should always CALL THE 800-NUMBER ON THE BACK OF YOUR CARD to verify whether the initial call was legitimate!
FYI - they called me regarding a AAA visa that I did not realize was a BOA Entity. Sometimes you apply for a card that has one name (Like Amazon or Ebay) and the bank that holds the debt is someone else. If you get a call - look on the back of all your credit cards to see which one it could be.
Called my cell phone. No message was left but looked up the number on google. did not want to call back without knowing who it was
Although it's always a good idea to return these types of calls at a known published number (such as one on your statement), this number is, in fact, legitimate. FIA Card Services is wholly owned by Bank of America, so they are, in fact, Bank of America. They manage a number of different card programs.
I received a call at work from a "Meilian" with the caller ID of 302-458-1590. When I asked for the call back number, she stated it to be 877-825-5433 extn. 35116 and she was from the Bank of America. She stated that if I did not feel comfortable giving my information, that I should call the Fraud dept, 800-441-7048 and give them my SS# to search my information. She stated and repeated only the last 4 digits of my credit card #. Problem is that she gave me the incorrect credit limit for the card.Called the number on the back of my credit card and long behold, there is a transfer check recently made out on my account. They gave me the actual fraud dept #.
Got this annoying call at 8 AM, it woke me up. Left a message with a vague instruction to call a 1-800 number because of fraudulent activity on my account. I don't have a Bank of America card or account. They didn't know my name, or account number, nor did they use the name of any bank or credit card. HIGHLY suspicious behavior. Then I googled the number and found this. Left a complaint with the do not call registry. If you really have suspicious behavior on a card, the card company at least will use your name, account number and bank. This is an obvious bogus call.
