They keep calling and hang up right away, when you ask what company they represent. I called the FTC at 1-877-382-4357 and registered a complain. They are trying to shut them down, so more people need to call and complain. If you call the 303-249-9700 number back and press #5, it will ask you if your number is the right number for them to call you back. I took option 2 for another number, and then I proceeded to put in our local police number, so maybe they'll start calling the police dept. These people need to be locked up!
That's it. I can't take this anymore. These F***** call at least twice a day and have been doing it for the past 3 months. Sure enough, I'll press 1 to get a live person and it immediately hangsup. So finally I google the number and found this. These a$$ holes deserve the worst. They will get theres.
I pressed #1 and blew a whistle into the persons ear and hung up. within seconds I got a call back. I let the answering machine take it. He spouted "You blew a whistle in my ear. That's against the rules" Then he realized how stupid that sounded and he changed it to say it's against the law. Then he said he was going to report me to the FTC. That's when I picked up the phone and we had a brief discussion as to who was breaking the law. That sunk into a exchange of F-U's before I finally hung up. He threatened to use my number when he made calls but that hasn't happened yet so I assume it was just another idle threat by wanna-a-be thiefs. These people should all die a slow, terrible death!
I am on the friggen 'do not call list' and these scumbags keep on calling. I wish they had balls to knock on my door instead.
I got this call and I get it all the time. I tried calling to remove our number but they say the mail box is full. I talked to someone to get our name off and I wa shung up on to I just reported the number on the Do Not call registry
Believe it or not, ignoring the calls or hanging-up is the wrong thing to do because it has no effect on them what so ever. A machine makes the calls (not a human). They're annoying you right? And they won't stop calling? So return the favor and press "1" get a live person on the phone and waste their time. Pretend you're interested but ask no questions. They'll ask you how much debt you have and what interest rate you're paying so make things up.Then they'll want your credit card number and issuing bank. At this point you just give them fake numbers or simply stall them. The idea is to keep them on the phone for as long as possible. They work on commissions and they're make their money off the elderly, the mentally disadvantaged and people who are deep in debt. The sole reason for their calls is to get you credit card number. This is the most effective way to deal with them because they have to hire people to answer the calls and that costs money. BELIEVE ME, THEY DON'T WANT TO TALK TO PEOPLE WHO WASTE THEIR TIME.
Not too long ago I heard on the news that ssome of these scammersonly need us to answer the phone. Then they know it's an active phone account and so they may be able to do an identity theft & do whatever..rack up the phone bill, identity theft. I don't answer the phone if I don't recognize the number. If they want you to confirm the phone number, there's a fair chance they're up to no good with your number.~~ Also, don't ever click onto Vistaprints...I did just to check out their info. I NEVER gave them any of my info....a week later I got mail from them with my name and adress on it. To me, that's a business cyber stalking & should be illegal.
