Five calls in the past few days, a couple were 15 minutes apart. I answered the first two, said hello, listened for 30 seconds - nothing, I hung up. I now ignore these calls. Isn't there a way for the telephone company to trace this and stop it? How many complaints does it take? Very very many people are getting really annoyed about these calls....
I just got an ooma phone a few weeks ago and the calls started right away. How did they get my number I only gave to close friends, it is not listed anywhere. Put yourself on the no call llist. If you still get the calls after 31 days you can file a complaint. They just call ahead to find out your habits and then they will have someone call. That is what I was told. When I see their number i let the call go through to let them think I am never home. What else can you do?
Me too I get this phone call today at least 4 timesI even register my cell phone on DO NOT CALL LIST. make me so made
The calls from this number started 2 weeks ago. At first it displayed out of area and just recently started showing as IVR. I usually let the answering machine take the call if I don't recognize the phone number or the person calling, so if it is a telemarketer they hang up and stop calling. This time though I've had over 16 calls from this number. Twice I answered the phone so I could tell them to quit calling but all I get is a hang up. I think this is from looking at the free trial products on the internet. I started to sign up for it...you have to put your information in to get to the page where it tells you in fine print that after the one free trial period it will start costing you in the neighborhood of $75 a month so I exit the website but they still had my phone number from the previous page. I'll just let my answering machine screen this call since they hang up when I pick up the phone anyway. I had another incident with the teeth whitening from 201-465-4655 and 201-204-0766. After the first call I told him I was not interested and he called again. I told him I already told them I was not interested. He called a third time and I told him to take me off their list. He called a fourth time and I told him I was going to report him and their company to the FCC. They finally stopped calling. So if you are looking at the banner ads and need to see what the fine print is put in a number like 555-1212 (so another poor soul doesn't actually get called). I learned my lesson...
This number is calling me up to 5 times a day. This has been happening for over a week now. When I do answer, it just hangs up immediately on their end. I like many of you put my information in for that free trial of Acai, but when I saw that they would automatically do a refill every month i decided to NOT submit my order. Since then i've gotten these calls, glad to know that this is why it is happening(though i wish they'd leave me alone). I certainly will NOT do this again.
Approximately 2-3 each day the last few days, this number calls my cell number, which IS NOT PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE. I call back amd hear either a fax connection or a mesage stating the "the number cannot be reach as dialed".STOP THIS HARASSMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I started getting calls from this number about a week ago, and luckily I've always been away from my phone at the time so I never answered, I was suspicious after the first call so I decided to research it, and found this site. What I did to prevent, or actually to keep my phone from ringing whenever they called, was to store the number in my phone as "Don't Answer" and put set the ring on the number as silent under edit contact, while keeping the regular ring for other calls. They called earlier today, and my phone was right near me, and it didn't ring because of the setting, so it didn't bother me. I hope this suggestion is helpful, if you just don't want to hear your cell ring constantly. It makes ignoring them that much easier.
The calls began yesterday starting at 10:51 a.m., then 4:58, 7:59, 8:12, and started again today at 10:48 and again now @ 1:48. I am hoping to have Verizon block it.
