I too had looked at the Acai web site. I had filled out the info and also changed my mind when I had to pay for shipping. When I received the phone call with this 800-1000 number the guy stated he was calling about the Acai product. He said their lines had gone down and was wondering if I had ordered the product. I stated I was not interested any more but they continue to call me non-stop. I certainly would never purchase the product if this is the hassle you get.
I thought I had previously signed up on the National Do Not Call Registry but I did it again anyways, and the number stopped calling after 3 days!!! Woohoo!!!!! I was getting calls 4 or 5 times a day for about 3 weeks. After registering, I got two calls the following day and one call each day for the next couple days. It definitely doesn't hurt to register again! Good luck!
scammers. but just add the number to your contacts on the cell phone and then specify the tone for the scammer to no tone. does't block the calls but it is not as irritating. as in nothing to catch your attention when they harass.
I got a call from a person claiming to be with Network World Magazine, wanting to send me a free subscription, and wanting to ask me questions.I asked "how did you get this number?" (he DID have my name, and this was my personal cell)He said that I filled out some form at a trade show.I haven't been to a trade show in many years, since before I had this number.I have filled out some forms at a conference, but I don't use my PERSONAL cell phone number.I informed him of this and he brushed it off and tried to continue asking questions.I was eating lunch with my Fiance, so told him to call back. He's called back 3 times and I haven't answered, as I remember going thought this at least once before (years ago). The person asks a series of questions that sound just like the questionnaire from InfoWorld magazine (back when it was in print and not web-only), then he starts to go into questions with more detail and asking for more personal info. That's when I got suspicious... I asked "if you have my number and the info you claim to have, why are you asking me for it?". They claim it's to "verify" the information. That's when I hung up.
They called the office twice within the past thirty minutes. No one on the other side of the line, so I hung up.
My experience matches EXACTLY with Tennesse's below. I too went to the Acai website, put my info and canceled it after it asked me to submit my billing info. This happened in the last five days and I received 2 calls today. It only took me 3 minutes to register my cell on the do not call list. I'll also try to block it via my cell phone provider. Good luck!
I just started getting these calls this week... 3x/day, nobody is there, can't call back... same as everyone else. Weird though - I have never "almost ordered" resveratrol or acai berry anything... I know better than that. I checked my CC record & statement, nothing charged by these idiots... yet. Somehow, somebody got my number... and they're driving me insane.
