On Sunday I got a call from this number to my cell phone, which is unlisted. The caller identified himself as with the U. S. Department of Transportation and was doing a survey that would take only a little of my time. Fortunately I was busy at the time and declined. I have to say that his voice sounded extremely professional. Are these phishers hiring professional voice actors or something?
I have received SIX phone calls from this number in the past 3-4 days. The first was a female recorded notice saying that the IRS had filed a lawsuit against me & I needed to call them back immediately. (I didn't.) The next four calls just showed up as "missed calls." Tonight I got a call from the same number, listed as A BT SRBT INC. I answered & a woman said that she was from a State of GA Agency. I cut her off, saying that I had received several calls from this number, including the one stating that the IRS had filed a lawsuit against me. She said, "Oh, no, this isn't about that." I, basically, told her that I would not speak with her & hung up.Other people I know have gotten calls from this number, again saying that the IRS had filed a lawsuit against them. One of these people called the number & they asked for his name, which he gave them. They told him not to worry, he was not on their "list" or something like that.I would NOT call this number back, talk to anyone who called from this number, nor give them any information.How can we get this stopped? People are being scammed by this!

Yes. The caller claimed to represent Document Delivery Services and threatened to serve me with papers from a fifteen year old debt. A check with my local County Clerk’s Office revealed no evidence of lawsuit filed.
