Everyone's wrong^, SRBI is a survey research company that does legitimate public health survey work (been trying to get a job with them for awhile now). They're not phishers or telemarketers, they just need public data to report on. It's annoying, sure, but it's also important. And the reason the calls come from MD or NJ or whatever is because their call centers are located there. Just don't be personally offended, either answer their questions or don't, whatever.

We randomly generate they number...take a common area code...algorithm filters numbers we have and haven't called....just say you don't live in Minnesota if you don't wish to participate

This number is SRBI's default Id which is the same for all call centers! This is an legitimate data research company. Feel free to visit their website @ www.srbi.com dumb [***] before start rumors about someone's company!

Chicago is where SRBI is located...States can't afford to employ people to conduct surveys...that's why states hire private companies...

They asked me questions about the internet and how I view it’s impact on society. He asked me for my address to reimburse the minutes used on the call but i kindly neglected and he moved on to thank me for my participation.

I got the call today and it was a female asking if I was (stated my name) she stated that she is taking a travel survey and she was not calling to sell anything. She asked if I was on a cell phone and traveling at the time of call, I said no. She ask me my zip code, I told her because anyone can get that information. Then she asked me if I travel more than 75 miles in the last month and I told her no, she said due to my answer she has no further questions for the travel survey. After that, I entered my phone number again on the do not call list and blocked the number from my phone.

Randomly generated phone numbers....no legislation against it....if you care about where tax money is spent, take the survey....
