I got another call from them today so I finally called the numer back and in the automated system it says press 3 to be removed from their calling list. Then press 1 to delete your number, then press 1 again if your SURE you want to be removed from all their calling lists (For those of you who are unsure as to whether or not you want to be annoyed again). Time will tell if this works.

314-963-8895 shows up under Caller ID with the name PAPER...Always a hang-up, no message, REAL IRRITATING !

If they told you to stand on your head to get your number removed, would you do that too?In fact, all you just did was confirm your number and willingness to follow a bunch of bogus instructions. This will result in MORE junk phone calls, not less. If you really believe scammers when they tell you they'll stop calling if you press some buttons, then you're just the kind of gullible person they're looking for.

Brian, keep in mind that most telemarketers call numbers at random. If their system is set up to call all the numbers in a certain group they might start with your prefix and then dial 0000, 0001, 0002, 0003, etc., and eventually would get to your number. I don't know this to be the case in all situations, but if you haven't had any dealings with them, that's probably how they dialed your specific number.

This is a telemarketer trying to sell newspaper subscriptions -- or to get you to renew. I used to subscribe to the Birmingham News, then back in August 2012, they went to a 3-issues-per-week subscription and I dropped them because they didn't drop the rate for fewer issues. I can get the same news, for free, from their website AND national news from all kinds of OTHER places. The only thing "missing" are the sales circulars.For the past month, for whatever reason, they decided to start delivering to me their Sunday issue -- I did not request this nor am I paying for it nor does it have any effect on my decision NOT to renew my subscription. Get lost, News -- you're old news.

I am getting 4-5 calls a day.They just hang up. Every one who is getting these unwanted calls should go on DO NOT CALL registry by US govt and file a complaint

I am getting calls from a 314-963-8895 that are hangups. It says on caller ID it is News.

I am registered with the Do Not Call Registry...I even went back and updated it a month ago as we started getting hammered with all kinds of solicitors, etc. I also did my cell number. It doesn't seem to matter as these calls keep coming. So I'm quite confused as to why the Do Not Call Registry does not seem to be working for me recently....it was great for 2 years, but now it seems to have dropped the ball. Just got a call from the 314-963-8895 number you all are talking about. I just don't answer. Am thinking about getting me a whistle and when they call, just blow them away:)

This number keeps calling, let's it ring a few times, and then procedes to hang up. I have no intention of answering it but the constant calls are becoming annoying.
