My daughter answered it the first time and hung up on the man as I was entering the house. He called right back, and asked for my husband by name, asking me "why the F- (he used word) I wouldn't put my husband on the phone. He dropped the f-bomb several times, called me a b- and told me I should go back in the kitchen where I belong. When I tried calling the # back, the automation said that this number was not in service.
These third party car warranties are actually prepaid service contracts. None of them come from the manufacturer. Let's all post this against the shills. In late 2011, I began getting first-class letters and postcards in the mail, as well as phone calls, from businesses telling me my warranty for my 2008 vehicle was about to expire. One of those letters came from a company that was affiliated with the dealership where I got the vehicle, which is also where I had service done while it was under warranty as well as oil changes and other small stuff. I turned down the dealership-affiliated offer at the dealership. I suspect the dealership then sold the information that I owned the vehicle to other extended-warranty companies. The majority of calls I got had a human begin asking me about my vehicle. I did not have to Press 1 to continue. They were immediately ready to pressure me to get one of their warranties. At first I humored myself by letting them deliver their spiel before I said no, but after a few months I began saying "that's none of your business" and other callous remarks before I said the magic words "put my number on your do not call list". During this time I thought, my DoNotCall registration might have expired, but I am not going to renew it because I want to see how long this is going to continue. The calls continued an average of twice a month until 2010, when I began getting questions that told me my car warranty has probably expired and I had only a very short time in which to renew it - which was an outright lie. Eventually the calls stopped. And I renewed my registration on the DoNotCall list. Not getting any vehicle warranty calls any longer. Car is only 7 years old and it still looks and runs nicely.None of these high-pressure sales people had non-American accents. This was long after the massive, daily barrage of robocalls to people all over the US from the "it is not safe to drive your car without a warantee" scammers had begun and finally stopped. I remember a news report that the man who owned the company behind that stunt was operating it from another country and bragged he could not be stopped by US law or US courts.
got a call for this #. answered and said "tell me something I want to hear or put on 'do not call'. without a word from the caller, they hung up. Am weary of unsolicited calls asking about things I don't give a D___ about.
I got a call from this number today. They stated they were with a warranty company and wanted to talk to me about renewing my warranty on my vehicle. He knew the make and model and year of my car. He knew my name, my husbands name and where we lived. .
" ... I even used my name so that if i call you and you recognize the name you will know that the company i work for is the real deal ..."That's the name you give out when you make the calls ?It's the same name as the comic book character Deadpool. The "merc with a mouth" who constantly makes very bad jokes and insults. It's not a good name for someone who is trying to sell low-quality services and products due to the publicity surrounding a recent movie where that character is the main suspect ... er ... protagonist ... agonist ... that's the effect that character has on people. Makes us snarky." ... the company i work for is the real deal."You forgot to tell us the name of your company. Or you intentionally did not give us the name of your company. No business address, no telephone number. Now, we know that you might not actually work for the "financial" company that handles the money to be paid out for service work that is done. We know most of these calls are done by marketing firms the "financial companies" hire. Many of the letters and postcards I got said this, in very small print somewhere on the paperwork. The secondary reason we are upset is that these car warranties you sell are not really warranties, they are prepaid service contracts. And the contracts are useless as the businesses where we get car repairs done expect us to make full payment on the service work they do, very soon after the work is done. These repair businesses will not release the car to a customer until that payment is made, even if the repair business agrees to wait for partial or full payment from the "financial company".
I have received phone calls from this number on several occasions, with either hang-ups or with the car warranty scheme. When I have refused to provide information, the man who called has, on two occasions, cursed me. I am reporting this to the Better Business Bureau but am wondering if there is any legal recourse. This is bound to be harassment.
I just got a call from this number. I didn't answer it and waited to see if a voice mail was left. There was no voice mail. So I called the number back to see what it was and a recording said the number was not in service. I am on the Do Not Call List and wonder if the list really works.
We get calls from this number frequently - always the same asking for my husband by his first name and when I ask if I can take a message they hang up. If you try to call the number back it's disconnected. Really tired of this BS.
I just got a call from the # 315-939-1963. I was a man he asked for my dead father . I told him he could not speak to him he called me a [***] and hung up. i tride calling the # back and the service says the # is not in service to try again. What in the world is going on.
Recieved 6 calls from 315-939-1963 this week. If I don't recognize a number I don't answer my phone. Since I've never been to New York, I definitely disn't answer. Sounds like the law should get involved with this one. The person or persons calling appear to be unstable. Phone harrassment is a serious charge.
