Scam call offering a lower interest rate on my credit card (6.9%). I bank through my Credit Union and they would never make a call like this----Everything about this call was bogus----they tell you to press a number (sure sign of a scam if the person does not identify the company), it was an automated call, etc., etc.
I asked them to STOP calling me and they immediately hung up on me! JERKS! They are the ones that called me! I reported them to the Do Not Call registry too! Let's hope that works.
We receive calls from telemarketers all the time, several times a day. We've changed our phone to ring six times before the answering device picks up - usually the caller just gives up and hangs up. All about scams - telemarketers telling you they can change your interest rate on your credit cards. Obviously they can't do that - they're looking for answers to questions about your credit cards - to steal something, I guess, or use your credit card to charge something. Government can't or won't do anything, even tho' you're on the Do Not Call registration.
They just called me AGAIN! I am fed up! I am waiting for them to call back again and I am going to be very angry and speak to a supervisor! This is rediculous!!!
Just got a call that said OUT OF AREA, and after they (or the robo-call) heard my phone answering machine say "leave a message" they didn't.Yes, what IS with the government, that you can't say, "321-304-9999 are scammers who pester everyone they can reach" and have them arrested? I'll add them to my BLOCK phone number list. My Panasonic phone can block these jerks. Best they can do is call, it rings once, and they get a busy signal. I don't have to run to the phone to check who it is. Still, it would be better if these monkeys could be jailed.
Agreed. I got the same call from "Florida." They said it was urgent that I call them back to lower my credit card interest rate. Why can't something be done about this? Why be on the DNC list?I called the FTC and the State Attorney General regarding a similar issue and they were useless. The FTC's web page actually says: "The FTC's Bureau of Consumer Protection works For The Consumer to prevent fraud, deception, and unfair business practices in the marketplace." Yeah, right.I gave them the phone number of a guy who was trying to take my money and they said they would add the phone number of the caller to their database for future trend analysis, and then told me to call the State Attorney General's office. What a joke. It's not even like the guy was trying to block the call. They can call him and he will even answer the phone and speak to you but they won't do anything. When I persisted, all the lady told me was she only takes the information. What more do they want? These scam artists are costing consumers millions!
I got my call last night about 5:00 PM. I asked for the name of the person and then asked for the phone number he gave it to me so quick so I asked again and he said why would I give it to you again. I informed him he was not allowed to call me because I was on the Donot Call List and I wanted to report their harrassing phone call, He said that I wouldn't do anything, I asked are you sure, and he said that I wasn't going to do anything. I called *69 got the number and then filed with the FTC, I guess when the government finally gets around to checking them out they will have a new number.
