Sorry to bust your bubble there YoseS, but the only thing you are costing them by keeping them on the phone is time. They almost always use VOIP (like Vonage) where there is almost NO cost for their phone service. That's how they can afford to keep calling us EVERY FREAKING FIVE MINUTES - DAY after freaking DAY!!I get 5-8 of these morons calling my 3 incoming lines every day except Sundays. And it is almost always these mortgage mod scams or some kind of debt relief scam - bad thing is, I don't have credit cards and my mortgage got paid off in 2006. So their wasting their time on me.

Answer the phone, get a live person on the other end, ask them to hold on for a minute, put the phone down and go about your day...leaving them "on hold". After a while, go back to the phone and tell them to stop calling you. You have pissed off the person on the other end and, hopefully run up their phone bill.

OMGosh this is FABULOUS and I'm definitely gonna have to keep this in mind for future telemarketing calls.

Its very discouraging to see there are 26 pages of complaints about this number just since Sept 3 of this year. And, like many people have said, they just keep changing their numbers, so if you add all those up, too, they number in the thousands. And i'll bet only one in twenty people bother to add comments. Sad and pathetic.Lets hope our government goes after ALL of them and HOUNDS them for the FINE MONEY. Might make a tiny dent in the deficit, if they COLLECT!This number/these calls are **SPAM.**

My suggestion is DON'T ANSWER a number you don't know. Google them to see who they are and report them to the FCC & BBB. The more complaints they get the more likely they are to do something because they'll get so flooded by calls that'll be the only way to stop us from calling...to do something about these rediculous companies!!!

JHM, I'm with you on this one. Why would I waste my time and let them know they're getting under my skin? If I don't know the number I DON'T ANSWER...simple. Then I Google it to see who it is, go to the FCC & BBB sites and report them. After a flood of calls both agencies will have to do something about these companies unless they want to keep getting flooded... :-)

I did not recognize the number so I didn't pick up. Another scam - a recorded lower your interest rates. Don't press the number that they mention to stop the calls - that also is a scam. I keep reporting these calls to the Do Not Call Registry but they don't stop!
