If it is alcohol (I get deliveries from a winery) you must have someone 21 or older sign for it. There is no blanket waivers on this one. State laws do not allow.
Yes, the 336-332-7835 phone number is from UPS. I've gotten this automated call on two occasions in the past: once for a contest win that required a signature, and the other time for a monitor that I ordered online. Just make sure someone is home so that they can sign for the delivery. :)
Just received two calls from ups 2nd day mail. The first call was to a cell phone no message left and the second call was to a cell again this time left message and tracking number. We went on the internet and checked out the phone number under google and it was the UPS out of Greensboro, NC. then we went to ups and typed in the tracking number and it did show a something was in transit. The only problem is the cell phone number hasn't been given out to anyone, no purchases have been made so not really sure why we have a package coming. This is the first time UPS has ever called the about a package coming needing sig. Besides the fact of calling the cell phone not sure how they got that info. Usually when ups has a sig. for a package they just leave a note tag on your door, then you sign that for the next day and they leave your package. somebody needs to take notice I have seen way too many blogs with people saying the same thing. Most stay home and no package ever arrives. What is going on.
The call is legitimately from UPS. I just got the automated call for a package to be delivered tomorrow. how do I know that - I was supplied a tracking number from the company I purchased a camera from. The call was to tell me if someone is home who can sign for this they will deliver - if not they'll leave a notice which will allow me to provide additional delivery instructions (like my signature) for the next day's delivery. I'm glad I found this thread as it helped me out. As someone else indicated, it can help save UPS from driving over a second time if they let you know in advance. If you call the number back it also confirms the info I just put here.
Call from UPS about pending delivery that require an adult signature as well as the procedure of number of attempts. Legit in my case, I have an order worth $1,500.00 I'm expecting to be delivered.
This is a legitimately call. If you have brought alcohol they will notify you. If you don't pick up the phone, they will still deliver.
I received 2 messages from this number on my cell phone on 4/29/09 telling me I was going to receive a package from UPS the following day which would require a signature. The message gave a tracking number. Even though I wasn't expecting a delivery, you never know, so I looked up the tracking on UPS's web site to a find it was a valid tracking number. The next afternoon I checked status of the delivery on the UPS site again & saw that the package had been delivered to someone who had signed for it in San Leandro, CA. Apparently, the package had not been for me and UPS had called my cell number in error.
I got a call on my cell phone supposely from UPS but no message and when I tried to call back the phone message said non-working number. I also got a phone call from public safety also called back no-one answered the phone. My question is are these legimate calls. They seem evasive and kind of strange for legit business calls. My cell phone number is one that I rarely give out so how can someone have it that I did not give it to.
I WILL BE HOME THIS AFTERNOON IF YOU HAVE APACKAGE FOR ME I LIVE AT 530 EAST MAIN ST SAVANNAH TENN
