Re: Contract Question: Yes, Article 3.1 of your contract is binding. I work as a certified construction contract administrator. My work is on a much larger scale than home remodels (I work on large water treatement plants etc.) but a contract is just that...a contract. The verbiage stipulates that "the Work shall begin on the date of this Agreement unless a different date is stated here..." that means they have to begin on this date. Now, what constitutes work beginning can be anything. They can drop off a hammer and call it the beginning of work, but the firm substantial completion date limits that ability. I feel most for the people who have had work done in the house and been left with shoddy craftsmanship. I was told that they only use master carpenters etc. but that doesn't sound like that's the case with the many problems people have been having. If you oversell a service you can't just use the best I suppose. What bothers me is that they knew this was coming when they came to my home to sell the remodel. If Contract Question's start date was supposed to be in September and they didn't start it...they knew damn good and well that this was a problem when they showed up at my door in October. That's a big crock of B.S.Contract Question, I'm definitely wanting to fight this, I would be grateful for your real name and details of your situation if you don't mind. My email address is rottenapple@gmail.com It would definitely help me substantiate my claim with GE Money if I can show that they entered into this contract knowing they wouldn't adhere to the terms of the Agreement. If you're uneasy with that, I understand. Thank you either way!
I called Armstrong to see if I could find out whether cabinets have been ordered or not. I told the guy that answered that I wanted to know if an order had been placed by a company that's going out of business and he said "You mean Kitchen Carolina, right?". Yikes. Definitely not a good sign that I didn't even have to name the company.
Just a side note, Contract Question is right, our online complaints won't hold up in court...but they will help substantiate complicency to GE Money. If nothing else, I'm using any and all documentation I can. Thanks Contract Question for your offer of legal assistance to everyone! I'm hoping my own issues will be able to be resolved solely through GE Money as I have not had any work begun but even if it is, I will be more than willing to assist others in this. I'd like to give these guys a good swift kick in the nether regions.I know times are tough but these cheerful little girls they have answering the phones kill me. So does Adam Hauser, the manager I spoke to yesterday. Times are tough and people need jobs and all but it's no excuse to behave like scum when you know what your company is doing.
I dealt with Kitchen Carolina and have settled with them, hopefully. A few problems exist, but I can handle them. The subcontractor cannot put a lien on the home of a Kitchen Carolina client. Check with your lawyer. And, whatever issues you have with Kitchen Carolina, going after the innocent homeowner is unethical and immoral.
Goto www.complaintsboard.com . I would bet lawyers peruse those sites looking for an abundance of complaints on one company. I am going to www.lawyers.com and post the www.complaintsboard.com and name Kitchen Carolina. Lawyers.com meet Compaints-at-KitchenCarolina.com ....Which one of you ambulance chasers want this one ?BTW; Mr. Selfors did buy a new home. Whether he paid cash for it or not would be interesting. He would have to prove that money was earned for normal wages...and not embezzled from the company.
you are just wrong to put liens on the homeowners. We have already paid Kitchen Carolina. It is not my fault they are not paying you. Shame on you!
I worked for Kitchen Carolina as a Cabinet Installer and never had one unsatisfied customer with my work, but that didnt stop Kitchen Carolina from taking me for $6500. I am not planning to put a lein on any of the homeowners, I am also trying to finish any jobs that are unfinshed, and working out payment from them directly. I also filed a complaint with 5 on your side, WRAL so if more of you do the same maybe we can get this out on the airways. If any of you still need a Cabinet Installer with 15yrs experience I can be reached at jkitto@nc.rr.com, also I can vouch for Ken the plumber, and Roger the electrician they do excellent work. There still is a few of us out there that care.
So everytime we talk to a stupid employee at KC, they are just trying to get us off the phone?
I would also like to extend my services to any home owner that needs a tile floor or backsplash installed or repairs. I will also charge the same thing I was getting from Kitchen Carolina. You may contact me at tomtile.tile@gmail.comI can supply you with names of other customers that I have done work for.Thank you
