Got a call on my cell phone from these clowns. Claimed they were GE Security and I had "won" a full wireless alarm system for the house. I asked them where they got my cell phone number and "India call center guy" said they received it from GE. Told them we had a full system and I wasn't interested. Guiy was actually cordial on the phone. I want to know why this hasn't been shut down yet with all the complaints since cell phone telemarketing is supposed to be illegal.
I figured it was a scam. I never answered it, simply because the number itself seemed too fishy, and came up with an 'unknown caller'. I got a call on my land line and cell phone in the same night, so I thought I would investigate it a little further, just in case it would have happened to be someone trying to get in touch with me. I Googled it, and got this site. Good job everyone.
Received a five-second "blank" msg from this number earlier today. Fortunately, the call came in on a phone line that allows me block calls from specific numbers. Now scumsuckers can (try to) call all they want.
Called on 1/6/11 at around 1:08PM. Left a BLANK voicemail. What are these people trying to pull? Need to get reported.
Got a call about half an hour ago on my cell phone from the Indian-sounding guy about winning a GE alarm system. I politely informed him that I rented, so had to decline his offer and to please take me off their call list. He was saying something as I was hanging up. I'm sure I'd been asked to share personal info if I had stayed on with him.
I recieved this call not an hour after my husband got the call on his phone, i did not answer and it went to voice mail. the voicemail was just background noise. the very asian accented lady knew my husbands first name and wanted to sell us a security system for our home. He now wishes he would have told her he has one. "we have lots of guns" hopefully that would deter them from ever showing up at our home.
