think the bigger fool and idiot is the guy replying to a three year old post as if that person will magically know to come back here to read it.
It IS definitely WALGREEN'S REFILL reminder call because I just refilled a script that I had forgotten all weekend to refill!!! Thanks Walgreens, you really do Rock with a capital R!!
This is not a true walgreens call. Call walgreens and they will tell you. They have actually been trying to put a stop to this number. Also, people are not being paranoid, just safe. Please Don't call people paranoid when they are just trying to protect their info, unlike you or other people who are so trustworthy. I've just received 3 calls back to back that are all scams, including this one. Please no one listen to someone who is just saying you are paranoid. better to be paranoid than getting you information stolen. Good luck with that one BobW
Called twice today, didn't answer because I have them in my contacts and caller ID tells me who the call is from. Always leaves the same recorded message. NOT A SCAM.Indeed, this is a legitimate call from Walgreens. Both my wife and myself have all our prescriptions filled by the local Walgreens pharmacy; we have for the past eight years, and my cell number is the contact number of record. If you have been re-filling the same prescriptions for an extended period of time, the 'Walgreens Automatic Prescription Refill' service will call to try and enroll you in the automatic service where you don't have to do anything: Walgreens automatically refills the prescriptions and mails them to you. Convenient - it eliminates YOU having to call when the prescription(s) is(are) running out and you will need a refill. If you are not "25 anymore," this is perfect. Great so far, but...The problem arises if your doctor changes your meds. It's almost impossible to get the automated system to recognize the change and you will get refills for the previous AND current meds. We are now ordering refills by scanning the bar code with the iPhone app. Problem solved but they keep calling... and they will as long as a valid number is in the system. The service is convenient and works well as long as there are no changes. As we found out, you can actually do the same thing by just talking to your local pharmacy. They have more control over any changes.
