It IS Walgreens, and the FBI doesn't give a crap about your report. They have more important things to do. Spazz.
It IS a scam. Do not give any information, or your bank account will be drained in minutes by skinny Nigerians.Walgreens has now confirmed it is a scam.
This number disconnects me every time I call back and my local Walgreen's doesn't know any thing about this. Therefore do not answer any time this number pops up
I called the number back after reading all these posts to play with it and see :). I entered an incorrect birthdate, to see: It knew my birthdate was entered incorrectly, so it forces me to think it likely knows my correct bday already. I was still scared to give my real bday. so I did it again, the first time I entered an incorrect month, day, and year. The second time I used a false month and day, but gave them the correct year. After two fake bday entries, it said it was unable to complete my request, and to visit the website at walgreens. com. I don't have a lot of extra time to further investigate, but it made it seem like it may very well be legit, and not a scam. U could go to the Walgreens.com website and see if u can find more evidence that it is legit. However, rather than getting all upset, you can block the number so it's not bothersome, but it will still show that they called on ur phone. Then call you local pharmacy to fill it and not worry about giving info over the (402) Omaha, Ne line. I've been getting scam calls from this area, so legit or not, I'm not giving it up :).
I just received a call from this number and let it go to vm. I then called the 1-800-xxx-xxxx number given in the vm and got the "Walgreen's reminder" pitch (a recording). They asked me to enter my dob, which I did not do, and hung up.I then called my local Walgreens to inquire. They stated it WAS a legitimate Walgreens number and represents a new service of reminding people in their database about prescriptions that are about to require a refill. The local pharmacy confirmed that I do, in fact, have a prescription that is about to need a refill. The original prescription was filled at the local pharmacy about three months ago, and was not ordered by telephone.I then asked them to opt me out of this service, which they did with no hassle. In order to opt out, the local pharmacy asked for my name and confirmation of the phone number that is in their database. The person entered my opt-out into their database. We'll see if this stops calls from this number......I don't believe this is a scam, just another nuisance that I don't need.
without knowing specifics, here is a guide at wikihow that should help for both landline and cell phone call blocking...wikihow.com/Block-a-Call
it is not walgreens and to those of you that fall for it , you are nuts... I get these calls a lot and I keep going to verizon and blocking the number.. then they will call with a totally different number.. I talked to my walgreens in my city and they said they know nothing of this and there would NOT be out of the state calls reminding people of their refills.. you people that believe it is walgreens are they type that would fall for anything and you are the reason we have scammers because you go for it . you are bait for them.. any normal person willl keep up with their own refill information and not rely on an automated scam to tell them.. people use your MINDS....
