The do not call lists do not prevent ANY calls, they prevent solicitation calls. A survey where a product or service is not sold is not a solicitation call.

Most of you need to shove your Do Not Call list crap up you butt. I used to work for a company that would do market research for various corporations. We did not sell anything or sign you up for anything. We would ask you if you would like to participate in a survey and ask you a couple questions about an experience with customer service or about a potential service change on your home phone or how you pay your gas bill. Being on a Do Not Call list prevents these people from doing their jobs and making a living. Nobody cares that you are on a Do Not Call list. Think about that next time somebody asks your to answer a few questions about your customer service experience instead of yelling "BLAH BLAH BLAH I AM ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST BLAH BLAH BLAH!"

This number called me on 11/18/07 at 8:35 PM...I'm on the national do not call list as well. No message left. No company name on my caller ID, so googled the number and this is where it brought me. I'm not wasting my $$ to try to call back...I do not know anyone in Nebraska!!

Very true. But I work for a market research company, and if you specifically say, "Please take me off your list" or "please do not call me again," they should take you off their INTERNAL list and honor the request.

THESE CALLS ARE FROM A CALL CENTER OPERATED BY CONVERGYS, A BIG COMPANY THAT DOES A VARIETY OF TELEPHONE CALLING FOR DIFFERENT COMPANIES. SOME ARE "LEGITIMATE, I.E., THEY ARE OK WITHIN THE DO NOT CALL LIST RULES. IF YOU HAVE ANY KIND OF A BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP (SUCH AS A PURCHASE) FROM A COMPANY, THEY CAN THEN LEGITIMATELY CALL YOU.CONVERGYS ALSO DOES OTHER LESS DESIRABLE CALL ACTIVITIES, THOUGH, SUCH AS SKIP TRACING AND COLLECTION CALLS TRYING TO FIND YOU AT HOME, OR TO FIND YOUR WHEREABOUTS FROM FRIENDS AND RELATIVES IF THEY ARE TRYING TO COLLECT A DEBT. THESE ARE BORDERLINE LEGITIMATE, ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY CALL PERSONS WHO MAY AT SOME TIME HAVE BEEN LISTED AS A CREDIT REFERENCE, RELATIVE, ETC.

Send the company certified letter Stating to remove you from the call list. If they call you again within seven years You can take them to small claims court And sue them for $500 per call. Unwanted calls is illegal By definition of harassment.

what the hell... calling and calling... never leaving a message. sooooo annoying. the do not calls list dont work for these guys??? wtf???

They didn't leave a message, but when I called the number they said that I've been invited to participate in a market research program. I hung up. We're on the do not call list.
