I just got a call from that number and when I answered, it was just a bunch of creepy loud static for like two or three seconds and then they hung up. I recently got back from a vacation in west Texas (I live in Texas) and I used my debit card there. Is this a scammer? Should I call my bank or something?

legit call to check validity of unusual credit card transactions.

Thought it was bogus. robo call from my bank saying a suspicious purchase made with my bank card. checked my account and sure enough three separate itune purchases made totaling 89.00. I don't have an iTunes account.

Debit card security

Not sure who or what to believe anymore. I did get a call from this number with CID First Data Corp. Did not answer and then got a call from my credit union about 3 debit charges in a row from an atm in Houston TX. I've never been to Houston. Told the bank to cancel the card which they did and told me I would be reimbursed in 10 days. Went to credit union and got a new card in 10 minutes. Not sure how my card got duplicated even with the pin. Wont be using it at gas stations or 7 11s anymore. These crooks are smart. Too bad they cant use their criminal minds to help humanity. Dont trust anyone with your cards. Im using cash from now on. I froze my credit also.

Call appeared to be legit. I did not answer, but they said they froze my credit card due to unusual activity. I called the number on the back of my card and they did confirm that there was a freeze on my card due to unusual activity. Plus, area code made sense, all of this credit card communications come out of Nebraska.

Claimed to be working with my banl and wanted to know about certain transaction, looking for acct. # and other privat info. If there's a problem, my bank will call me first. Called on a Sunday, knowing the customer service is closed on Sundays. BS!
