if it's legitimate, then why didn't they leave me a voicemail? We did make some overseas travel arrangements so I do believe it is a legitimate call...but leave a message for Pete's sake!
Rec'd a call from something called First Data Group on8/23/16/at 4:02p. Did not bother to answer.
Gto call, no message nothing when called back except "Verizon this number does not exist".ANY legit business would have an active number - so total, full, no messing around, 'We Want Your Info" scam - - kill it folks, do not answer. As 'Slim' above in thread states, if your concerned Call Your Bank Directly - do NOT believe this B.S. at all, and do NOT give them info, ever!If you DO speak with these entities, and they say they are your brick and mortar bank, allegedly, tell them you'll see the branch manager, and ask for a case number. Ask for your branch managers name, because even if You dont know, its a simple thing to find on your banks website - and make sure you DON T tell them your bank - lol! - or they'll simply google it while speaking with you~No Case Number = Not Legit, ever~
Got a call from this number today. Caller ID said, First Data Corp. I think it was a spoofed number. I don't answer calls i don't recognize. looked here and saw where several said it was a legit call. i called back, from a different phone, and i got something like, "the call cannot be completed as dialed". I think someone spoofed this number on this call.
In 2010, I had my identity stolen and the person tried to buy something using a store credit card. I received a call around 8:30 p.m. from the company that services their credit cards. They were legit, so don't assume the time they call means it's a scam.
I just received a call from this number 5 days in a row, a robo call telling me that 'Northwest Savings Bank' has detected fraudulent activity on my account and to please call a number they are giving me. I called Northwest directly using a northwest listed number, and had them look into the information. They said it is a scam call, that ANY automated call or fraud protection service regarding my card would come from an 800 number and they even gave me those numbers so I would know if they called. They also stated that it wouldn't be a robo call, it would be a real person. She was very nice and double checked that I had no issues, and if there was fraud detected they would shut off the card first then call, whereas right now my card still works just fine. I was advised to continue ignoring this number and I also gave it to NorthWest so they could report it.
Same thing happened with me Erica, keep a close check on your debit and credit cards because I was hacked on both accounts about a week later.
I got a call from this number tonight around 8 pm and they DID leave a weird robo-message about my bank card. I immediately got on my banks website and sure enough there was 2 unauthorized charges. I did NOT call the number back that was left in the voicemail, I called the number on the back of my card. I have my cards on lock down and will be receiving new ones. I can't even believe that this was a legit call, but i can only imagine how much money whoever took my card could have racked up if i hadn't double checked my account.
Got a call from this number wanting to verify transactions in my card. Gave me 5 transactions I did make, but then I wondered why they called because nothing was fraudulent and they 5 transactions were for the past week not even totaling 200. I immediately called my bank and my bank told me, they DO NOT deal with this number, plus they would ask me security questions I have in place on my account before they would even verify. This was not done. I day this is a scam to make sure they have your correct info on you. My debt card has been cancelled! Thank God I called bank within 5 minutes of receiving this call.
