Called husband's office number. Told them to take me off their list. Said they couldn't. Gave me another number to call. Isn't this illegal to refuse to be taken off a calling list?

Morons...We blocked their number through our Call Block software. Call all you want...you ain't getting anywhere!

Called three consecutive days. Rings twice then disconnects, no message left. I'm reporting them to the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY.

I think he's telling the truth, but there is a downside.Certain search engines use INFO USA to verify listings. So if you are trying to get your company on as many search engines as possible, they are very useful. They also probably sell your 'verified' information to many marketing companies that will call your mercilessly.

Hey Info Guy...why don't you stop trying to Cover Your A$$ and pretending you work for some fantastic "good deed" company! Anybody who takes any pride in what they do or how they behave would not even work for such a company, never mind sit on a blog and try to justify it. PEOPLE.... emailing does not work, calling does not work, these jerk bags will just keep doing what they want....HANG UP ON THEM before they even get a word out. OR buy an air horn like i'm going to, and WAIL IT into the phone when they call.

This is a company called InfoUSA. They claim to have been in business since 1972 but I cannot find anything to substantiate that. What they do is basically troll the 411 directories (land line, web based, phone companies etc...) as well as state company registration databases. They do this to collect data on companies. They then attempt to sell "marketing" lists to others who want to solicit to you. Problem is, their tactics are extremely aggressive and suspicious even. Fact of the matter is, if you tell them to take you off their list, or to never call you. Make sure (regardless of what they tell you) to keep a record (and a recording if possible) of each time they violate that request. Then take that evidence and sue them in small claims court. File a suit for each infraction. If you win, you get something like $500 for each offense in most states.

I'm considering contacting my lawyer in regards to all of the calls I have received. I get numerous calls almost everyday from this company even know I am on the DNCL and have requested that they remove me from their list numerous times. I have been told by the representatives that the DNCL does not pertain to businesses, but my request for the calls to cease should! At this point it is stressing me out to the point of mental anguish! I can not conduct my work properly because of the calls and the unwillingness of the representatives to take my numbers out of their database! Every time the representative states that they are with InfoUSA my blood pressure spikes, yet another reason to contact my lawyer I suppose. The harassment MUST stop. I will post again once I meet with my attorney with what action we can take. I understand if you call me ONCE and I tell you at that point not to call again and to take me off of your database. To continue to call over and over after that is unacceptable! I will not email the address listed on this site until I speak with my attorney. Who knows, once we research it enough we might find that there are already other lawsuits pending!

I just received a call from them and they were trying to verify information... whos my manager and what not i told him i didnt know....he got annoyed the caller id say info usa yet when he called he said hes from american medical, wth? im kinda irritated
