RECEIVED A CALL (ON MY BUSINESS LINE) FROM THESE [***] THIS MORNING AT 9:02AM. OUR MACHINE TOOK THE CALL AND NO MESSAGE WAS LEFT WHAT A WAY TO START THE DAY!ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO, WE INSTITUTED A POLICY THAT WE NO LONGER ANSWER "OUT OF AREA" OR UNKNOWN CALLLS AS WE HAVE FOUND THAT THESE CALLS INVARIABLY INVOLVE A SCAM TELEMARKETER...LIGETIMATE CALLERS WILL ALWAYS CALL BACK OR LEAVE A MESSAGE.ANOTHER THING THAT WE DO WHEN THESE CALLS COME IN - AND THIS SEEMS TO WORK - WE QUICKLY LIFT THE RECEIVER AND JUST AS QUICKLY PUT IT BACK DOWN. HOPEFULLY, IT MAKES THE TELEMARKETER THINK THE LINE IS NOT IN SERVICE.WE HAVE FOUND, OVER THE YEARS, THAT THERE IS NO POINT IN CALLING TELEMARKETERS BACK AND REQUESTING TO BE TAKEN OFF THEIR CALL LIST. IT DOES NOT WORK! NOTHING PREVENTS THEM FROM SELLING YOUR NAME AND INFORMATION TO ANOTHER COMPANY. NOTE THAT INFOUSA USES SEVERAL DIFFERENT NAMES AND PHONE NUMBERS.

I am requesting that your company and its agents cease calling my office ever again in the future. I am also requesting that you remove my business and associated phone numbers entirely from your database. We are listed on the National Do Not Call list and have no prior business with your company and yet you call and ask the same questions repeatedly, which I feel is an attempt to conceal your agenda; which is to have us confirm our identity so that you can then sell our information to your clients. The next call from your company will result in a filing with the BBB, the FCC and we will seek civil penalties.Simply remove us from your database and NEVER CONTACT US AGAIN!

As I read it, the DO Not call Registry covers cell and home phones and not businesses. Thus companies can still call you.

Received call at our house two minutes ago. I agree with all the other 29 pages in this website. SCAM

I answered this call, told them to put me on their do not call list. She asked if the # was a business number and I said 'no.' Maybe that's how to get rid of them.

i answered the phone and said hello a lady said "i have the wrong number." at that point 6 more of my lines were ringing from the same number. i asked why are those all coming in from your number. her response, "merry christmas" and hung up on me. How rude!!

This number called me today. No message left for me, just a faint voice in the background sounding like they are talking to someone elsewhere, "what did you win, what did you win"

I have spoken with the people at this number before. As has been stated numerous times on this forum, they state that they are just trying to verify that the information they have on you is correct so that when being searched on the web everything is up-to-date. Unfortunately, about a year ago I innocently answered their questions thinking I was just making sure info on file was current (a "free service", mind you). About two months later I began getting a charge on my ATT phone bill from InfoUSA. I think the charge was about $30. per month. When I called to find out what these charges were I was told that it was a 3rd party company that I had subscribed with for search engine optimization. They also told me the name of the person authorizing this subscription (no employee by that name had ever worked here), and when it was authorizied. ATT gave me a contact number to call for InfoUSA, and they cancelled my "subscription". Please be aware of any company that needs to verify your information through a 3rd party verification service. That should be your heads up that whatever company your talking to is trying to change something - either your phone plan, a new service that can be charged on your phone bill by a 3rd party company, or etc.

Any company that repeatedly calls my business and hangs up on me or my answering machine winds up on my JERK LIST. I no longer answer the repeated INFO USA calls. The constant calls and constant hangups are not the way to do business of any kind with me. They can say what they want. INFO USA is just another junk telemarketer. I get about ten such garbage calls per day. Do Not Call does not apply to businesses? Write your federal legislators to change the law.
