Yes indeed, it's legitimate. This number showed on my credit card twice in succession, which made me think "Fraud!!" but I check and both purchases were legitmate, made by me, for items on etsy. Not a scam at all, and I'm very glad that PayPal puts a contact number next to charges so there is a way to verify.

I received a call from this number 402-935-7733 stating they were inquiring if I accept payments to my account at this phone number (which is my WORK cell phone). I read on line that this is a scam- that the callers are trying to set me up with a bill and will be requesting that I pay that bill in the future- anywhere from $400-$500. The SCAM callers will request credit account number that is associated with this phone number if you indicate that yes you do accept payments at this number.

Legit. I made three donations via paypal. the phone calls were to verify the transactions I made were my transactions and not fraudulent.

i found 140$ charge on my bank account. it doesn't show on paypal account . this look complicated to us but with the right knowledge and tools the GOV can stop those criminals. i believe this scam making millions and it's combination of hackers and legit business that provide all this information to them. hacker can easily get into a website and drink all the information. than he can just charge you using his merchant services. we need to find who is the merchant services provider that allow those criminals to have a terminal for charging cards. the police find them within few weeks if they will just try. the bank can help locate the merchant services ....the merchant services should have all the clients info and his bank info since the money need to arrive somewhere. than police know the bank info they should wait in the branch and catch the [***] that is going to pull out some cash. so first think need to find who is the company provide credit card terminal to this guys. it might be paypal. than need to find where the money go by this info you can know the physical location of the [***] the name , phone and info shown on your statements means nothing. below how it show on the bank account.
