WE JUST PURCHASED A HOME AS WELL, AND WE ARE NOW GETTING THIS NUMBER CALLING US. I TOO, AM ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST. SOMETHING ISN'T RIGHT!
Six times (402-952-4444) has called me. Six times I have told them not to call me. My phone is not on the do not call list, but isn't there a law stating that they can't keep calling after you tell them NO. And what is the cut off time to call someone. 9:30 last night I had recieved my 5th call of the week. They want to know how I like living where I live. The last time I checked, the word NO is known in more then one country. And one definition of the word NO is to STOP! Please let me know if the LAW OF NO HAS CHANGED.
I just received a call from this number and they asked for someone else in my family. I asked him what is this regarding and he said that he was from the hospital. I told him that I could speak on my family member's behalf, and he said that he had to speak with that person, not me. I said, well, they are not available right now. He said, "that's what I asked in the first place", then clicked! Wow, I was so pissed off at that son of a b***h. These people have no reason to be calling and harrassing innocent people, not to mention taking up people's time. Is there anything we can do about it?
Because Wells Fargo isn't the only company that can hire them. You likely did business elsewhere and they would like to know about your experience.
They will not stop calling my cell phone. When I answer no one answers me. Stop calling me!
many calls... not suprising they are a telemarketing co. Also not too suprising they're based in Omaha. There are plenty of reasons they can legally call you regardless of your participation in any "do not call" lists (including national.) Read the legislation... I believe they may be required to leave a message if an operator does not get the call. I don't think it is legit for them to call and hang up without one.
Just so you all know, if you pick up the phone and say hello your number becomes a "hot" numberMeaning your number goes on a list that can be sold for a higher price. It’s a list that contains numbers where a live person is known to answer.Answering machine numbers are on a "medium" list. This is a possibility list. Non answered calls are on a "bum" list. This list is called a filler list because it can be lumped with any of the above to create a list with maximum possibilities. These lists are compiled by shady people who work in areas that can get numbers easily. It's a huge market and most employees can pad their pockets with a list of 100 numbers or more. The hotter the list, the more money you can get per list. These lists are then sold like laundering money to reputable companies who do not know how they were received. Places that get these numbers: some jerk in the post office of Medford, NY is selling numbers and forwarding addresses, most likely because he either feels he doesn't make enough, is mad at his job, or is just trying to make a few more bucks to feed his kids. Either way, it’s happening everywhere.Cell phone companies, outside sources recruit these people each day to fill those lists. Usually, it’s a friend of a friend of a friend. The land line phone company has thousands of people working for them who know how it works. But now the cell phone companies list is worth more. These lists are not compiled by the companies themselves, neither is it their policy to do so, these lists are compiled by schmucks who work for them. NOT all employees are bad, but there are a few who do that would not think twice of making an extra buck or two off your number.Do not put your trust in the "do not call list". It's worthless. How do you think unpublished numbers, even if it's a day or two after you changed your number, get in the hands of someone calling to sell you something, ask for money for a charitable org,. etc? In our land of make believe you are safe... Trust no one but yourself.
Got this call on cell. Reading above references, seems this is illegal activity - not simply telemarketing. That said, I would suppose there is a Omaha District Atty that can be reached to investigate this. Personally, I will send a link from this site to that DA for them to investigate and hopefully put a halt to it. (representing themselves as banks, hospitals, gallop... phishing is understatement)
after 'updating' my contact information with wells fargo, these calls started within 3 days. daily calls, some listing caller id as gallup organization, some as unknown caller. persistant criminals in flagrant disregard to dnc laws. filing complaint with ftc/dnc requesting criminal probe, and going to close the wells fargo acct and tell them since they don't respect privacy, they can bank with hell.
