Got a call from 405-555-0199 again. Left a message saying it was very, very important that I call them back at onced. I almost fell for this scam, but now after reading the posts I will be a lot more wiser and we have had some of the other calls too. They are playing dirty, to bad we can not do the same to them and report them to some body that cares. We are on the do not call lists to but this does not seem to phase them.
Same exact thing happened to me but they said that some papers were going to be released on me on Friday if I don't contact them. What a crock!
When I answered a pre-recorded message with a bad British accent asked for Jeshon Fisk and gave several options including one to remove our number from the list if this is not Jeshon Fisk. Caller ID only said Directory Assistance.
i got one from 405 555 1099, imprinted in brain, no one there then a man screaming out a no for someoen named Perry to call them back at or be arrested, i totlaly freaked and hung up, as this party has used my no for a lot i gather, and i jsut calle dmy phoen co and they verified hat was the name of previous owner, i have a blocked unlisted no, so imagine how angry i am, so it logged in date and time and my phoen co is goin in after this no..to find out who and where and the fact it is indeed Spoofing and vioaltion of federal law to do so to call anyone in regards to aything at all and they can be fined, and jailed, but it appears to be a popular no thats bein used as it also states directory asst, on it as the owner, which is even more strange and leads peopel to assume your getting a call from possibly a family member or such for emergency , it allow sonesmind to wonder area of whats wrong with who where....everyone who gets this report it to phone co and FCC as they have a link and this is just not funny..
These scammers just called.I usually NEVER answer the phone unless I recognize the name and number appearing on my caller ID. I'm feeling feisty today, so I answered our phone. Some subhuman thing said, "I need you to verify your address for a federal register." I replied, "I need you to verify the number you have called." The Moron then said, "It's a violation of federal law for me to give out any phone number information to you." I interrupted her and said, "It's a violation of my better judgement and common sense to continue this call, so I'll let you talk to my wife. Please hang on." I then put in my ear plugs and blew our air horn into the phone. Poor little scammer probably has a ruptured ear drum. People should think twice before trying to outsmart those of us with an IQ well above 100 by using caller ID spoof and giving us false, misleading information. The phone # on Caller ID is nonfunctioning, so no point in blocking them.[***] YOU SCUM BAGS! I'll bet you a dollar some boiler room has been set up by non-American SCUM.
Just received a call from this no Did not answer so they left a message telling me it was an urgent matter that has come across his desk No name as to who it was for or nothing I will not be calling them back If they want me they can write to me
You may have a very valid point here. Contact your consumer affairs div at the statelevel and turn this over to them.
Second call from this number I have received in as many days. The voice mail left was from someone identifying himself as Mr. Kane and the message was "this is regarding a matter that has come across my desk". Sounds like this person is calling from a call center as there is a lot of background noise and he's practically yelling into the phone. Thank heavens for my phone carrier's option to block phone numbers!
